Looking for a Soft Top for BJ74

So with a group buy we can get each unit @ $1150 Euros ($1600 CAD) +duty and taxes. This is assuming that they can get the frames at roughly the same price as they could before their supplier went bankrupt.

One option that has been suggested is that we just order the skins and they will supply drawings for the metal frames. I am waiting to hear how much the top will be minus the frames. Any suggestions on who could build the metal frames?

i have access to a bender and i can bend them up...
the cost will be realted to how much time is involved and whether or not you wnat the frames powdercoated afterwards...

Dont you want the OEM frames? Or is it new bent tube that will be supporting these?

Okay , i'm confused, these guys from cabrio deutschland build clasic car convertible tops and have built quick removable tops for 70 series cruisers, which i'm sure is of exellent quality and under strict labour laws manufactured for 2500$ canadian, taxes and shipping included, versus a top from Pakistan for 2100$ canadian without taxes.
uh,do I need to think on that?

i was under the impression you, Ehsan, were only going to make 70 series tops and the company in Germany is making the 73-74 series. if the only tops you can supply is the 70 series then there is only 3 in NA that i know of but there are donzens of 73/74 series in NA now with more every month coming in...

I can get tops for all 7x series. That is not a problem. What I was asking was that will you all be using the OWM bows or you looking for a new foldable design?

From my understanding there hasn't been a timeline or a price set for the tops from Pakistan. For me, the timeline is just as important as price. I would like to have something this summer.

Joe,
my suggestion to your situation
run a bikini top this summer and go with a fold down top ready for next year with the fiberglass rear doors as well.

<anyway with the way this year is turning out i highly doubt you will need a top at all>

me, i like either. i know some of my customers will be wanting the factory setup. the roll up windows are nice for those extremely hot days.
the cabrio top would be nice for quick up and down which will appeal to many.

i am glad you set this situation straight as i was getting ready to cancel my order. 70 series rags are very rare.

Where could I get a bikini top?

How much?

So here are the prices for just the soft top skins.

"we have in stock:
2 top skins in black, 2 in white, 1 in grey, 4 in dark blue. Single top skin would be EUR 550,-.

Bag for folded down top EUR 150,-. These are available each 1 in black, white and blue, all together à EUR 100"

Not sure if this is a group price or not. I will ask. It usually takes 3 or 4 days for a response.

I call the grey one. I'll find out how long till they can get more of a specific color.

Wayne, are you 100% confident that you can build the metal frames? If so, I am going to go ahead and order at least 1 for myself.

as long as the dimensions are acurrate and precise then no problem. if they are flawed then no promises. have the gent email me a copy of the scematics and i will take a look when i get back...
cheers
the bikini is $250

I can make precise drawings in Autodesk Inventor of the metal frame if you are interested. A bit difficult to measure the radius and angle of the tubes, but they are adjusable. Its easy to produce these. I dont think they have made changes on the construction since mine was produced. Interested?
