Well I went out to check the oil in the 94 LC today and guess what I found. A milkshake ! Looks like I caught it fairly early as the oil is just starting to show signs of the contaminationIf anybody has a line on a used motor or a headgasket kit for sale let me know. Otherwise I will just end up getting a kit from Beno. Thanks for reading.

Jim Trennel has a motor up in Iowa, but I think you will be better doing a kit on yours, as I would recommend doing a headgasket job on his used one anyway.

Beno and CDan both stock stock their version of a "kit" that includes everything you need including valve seals and such in one care package. It's been a few years since I did mine but it wasn't bad. If you have the shop tools pulling the engine seems to make things go a lot easier or at least that's what Onur (Beno) tells me after doing several himself. Other than a handful of fasteners and such it's not bad to do in place.

I think they call that a grind kit. Does that sound right?

Often called a valve grind gasket set or kit.

Don't you have a BJ74 to take picture of?

It's parked next to the compressor shed as we speak. I drove it to work today......:grinpimp:

I have to park it out back to keep a crowd from forming...

At the moment I'm seriously considering yanking the whole motor and doing a full reseal. I could get all HG related seals out of the way plus freshen up the pan seals, rear main, oil pump. Throw on a new water pump plus the rebuilt power steering pump and gearbox I have sitting on the bench. OMG this is turning into an enormous project !!!!!!
