Looking at Land Cruisers......FJ80’s. What are the pros and cons of 91-96 v. 98-up?

Slee is a company in Colorado. Search their web site for a newbie guide. Look up both the 80 and the 100. Each has its pros and cons. 80 is long in the tooth but an absolutely overbuilt beast. 100 has even more refined interior and independent front suspension. Fj is early years of the 80 series. Fzj is later years of the 80. 2uz covers the 100 series engine.

91-97 have an inline 6 cylinder, different engines based on years, fj/fzj80--(80 series). solid front axle. more of a toy than a daily driver at this point in time.
98+ or uzj100-- (100 series) is a v8 truck with independent front suspension, more comfortable as a daily, "less" off road capable. either one you choose its a good truck.
you should know what you want to do with the truck before you buy one. if you want to go hard core off road, an 80 might be for you. be ready to spend some money getting the truck into good running order before spending even more on modification... if you want a family hauler for fun camping trips and could do some moderate wheeling while being smooth enough to take grandma to goodwill to drop off a stack of books, then a 100 might be for you.
also side note the v8 in a LX470 or 100 series LC is also in tundras/sequioas and similar engines in many lexus cars, and made over a much longer time span than the 3fe/1fz found only in 80 series.
