Knee deep in hookers and gin
Green and White piggy came in the shop the other day. The guy wants to sell it bad.

350 Goodwrench crate motor. AA mounts, headers, Edlebrock carb
Th350 auto w/ AA adapter
Sag p/s without double arm or high steer
SOA. The knuckles do not appear to have been cut
Nice GY ATs 35x12x15 on crusty alum rims
Pretty nice paint, but the body underneath is not good.

Bad rust on rockers, wheel wells, fenders, aprons, floor

tail gate in-op

front axle puking from birfs

TREs all shot, but the steering would need to be changed anyway.

I'm thinking $1K needing all the work, including a starter and some tweaking to get it running right. Am I lowballing the guy 'cause I might want it, or does that seem fair?

How much mileage on the engine, and the wheels? Sounds like a lot of time and work to get it right so I dont think I'd go much over that unless the engine is like brand new and brand new tires then maybe a few hundred more. But if he wants a lot more just point out some of those problems and that might work him down a little. Good luck getting it.

The tires have good tread, but have sat on 'em for a while. Long enough that the white walls have run. The motor seems to run strong. I have no idea of the mileage, but has sat a lot as well. The torque converter stall speed is a bit high and the shift kit is annoying. A truck like this needs softer shifts and lower TC stall. I'm thinking I might swap in my TH400 with the doubler.

thanks for the input.

wow...it must look worse than it does...1,000 seams cheap to me...but i can't see it or really get a feel for it. Cruisers out here go for more i guess lol...

It doesn't look *that* bad, maybe there is a lot more rust than one can see. Things that would slightly worry me...

Engine? how many miles/shape?
SOA? hack job or decent?
Drivetrain? good/minor seals leaking? bad all in bad shape

I am also surprised about offering 1k. I think that would be a great price if the other guy goes for it. Seems cheap even. I maybe can't see all the problems from the pics either. Is it because it has been poorly upgraded? Engine swap, SO, etc...Is this rig out in IL? Do you have many to choose from? Are you going to wheel it anyway? Cut those rockers out! It seems like it needs quite a bit of tinkering but it also seems like a great base to start with. Does he have the original drivetrain still? Just curious. I thought pigs were selling for a 'pretty penny' for awhile but it seems I have seen a bunch of rusty pigs sell for nothing or not sell at all lately. Interesting...

Some of the mods need to come back out. Some can be fixed. The motor looks OK. Rust is every damn thing with 55s as far as I am concerned. Everything else is fixable.

Mostly I just don't need another truck, so i'm not willing to put a lot of money in it.

If its as crunchy as you say it is... offer him the thousand and see what he says. I cant see all his mods so who knows what quality went into mods and conversions. no offense but i dont trust other peoples work. ive had to fix it way to many times.

Gumby,

You know you need a 55.

Just talked to the owner. He's willing to take $2150 if anybody is interested. It needs a double arm or a high steer. I'm doing the knuckle rebuild and I replaced the starter. The cooling system might just require a fan shroud. Easy fixes. It runs great. I just don't want a pig right now enough to pay that for this particular one.
