Hey gang, was in the garage hiding from in laws this afternoon, and decidedly "test fitted" my Marlin Off Road seals on the new Longfield 30's and it seemed really tight.

Is there any problems with the Marlin HD axle seals when running the Longfield 30's? The next dry weekend I want to dive into the dirty job, and want to make certain I've got it all!

Oh, and the Poly's are on thier way too...

Run the Marlin seals with the Longs...

There are A LOT of trucks out there doing just this.

I am just finishing my PP Rears today along with new rear brakes. Have fun getting the C-Clips back in, the spacer washers on the diff gears like to fall out.

Did you get new wheel studs? I went with the Napa studs, cheaper but harder to put in as they are a tad bigger over OEM. A 3lb hammer did it for me.

I would also get a rear brearing - seal kit. $or sells one with new c-clips and spacer bolt. No sense in not doing it since you already have access.

I've got about 5,000 miles on my Marlin HD seals and 30 spline longs. No problems or leaks. When I originally installed my 30 spline longs with new stock seals one side was leaking after only a couple of thousand miles.

Thanks gang. They just seemed tighter than any previous seals I've done prior. Already contacted Kurt for a new rear bearing/seals kit. Good point on the studs...hadnt even thought of that. I need to look around to find a better source than NAPA. Thanks!

The joke is that the outer part of your knuckles will rust because oil is not leaking all over them. :)
