Hi folks! I've been LX-curious for a while and finally picked one up for myself. It's beautiful, I couldn't be happier.

2008, Black on black, 94k miles.

I have a few rookie questions for fellow LC/LX 200 owners.

  1. TPMS worked for about an hour, then light up a "Check tire pressure system" warning that won't go away. Is this a dead TPMS sensor? Has anyone had luck fixing this without a dealer (e.g. Discount Tire)?
  2. My LX started its life in Victoria B.C. Everything is in imperial units except the climate control display, which is in Celsius. Anyway to change this? My assumption is this is a trip to the dealer
  3. How much to get a replacement key? I only have one.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, pretty sure the TPMS sensor is a dealer only thing. I tried to buy some sensors for a 2nd set of winter tires and Discount Tires told me to go to the dealership.

Not sure about the other two questions. Sorry. Great looking rig!

Congrat and welcome to the 200 family. Mine look exactly like yours, black on black. Enjoy =) You can troubleshoot the TPMS with Toyota Techstream software. The answer to your 2nd question is unfortunately nope you can't change that by simply plug in the Techstream device at dealer and dealer will not touch it. You have to change the actual speedo unit which add up quick and it may be illegal as well. I was about to pull a trigger on one that was from Canada in Houston too.

Just to clarify. Spedo is already in miles/mph, and outside temp in info display is in F.

It's literally just the temp on the climate control display.

Is that what you are saying?

Opps, sorry my bad, I thought your odo is in KM. :bang: In your case, I think you should be able to change it with no problem. :) The LX should comes with HID headlamp from factory but it didn't until 2013 model. I am not sure if you plan to upgrade your headlamp. By simply replacing the H11 to H9 for low beam and 9005 to 9011 high beam with simple mod you have brighter headlamp. I did it on both of my LX and Sienna, love the upgrade brighter headlamp with minimum cost. To replace with OEM headlamp, it will run at least $2K.

first congrats, there is a reset button for the tpms down below the hood release are, give that a shot if not you will need to hook it up to techstream (nice tool to have for $30 if you own a toyota/lexus) to see what the issue is or the dealer.

Thank you Ali.

Can you educate me on Techstream? I assume it's diagnostic cable + software. Were is the best place to get it?

Oh awesome! Thanks for the tip. I was surprised that it didn't come with HIDs.

Yes, its a generic obdII cable and software and I got it from Amazon, if you search for tehcstream it should pop up.

Also for the headlights I just used a plug and play HID kit and the improvement in light output is night and day. I went with 5k color which is close to stock but a bit whiter, not the blue hint you get with the 6k kits.

I hope someone comes up with an answer. I have a '08 LC and I have been unable to change the outside temp to C. Maybe we can swap the climate control from mine to yours? LOL. Everything else changed but we haven't had any luck with the outside temp. Obviously (?) they don't have a separate unit for Canada and US but I couldn't find anyone to talk to that may have some insight. I had hopes that a Lexus dealer might but they don't sell enough of them for the techs to get experience in the more rare areas. At least you can talk to a Lexus dealer, there aren't any LC dealers in Canada.

I'm going to call about it this week. I'll let you know what I find out!
