So - as some or all of you know, I am moving to the Philippines for three to six years. I have been exploring the options for the storage of my Cruisers and Cruiser related items and have a solution, sort of.

I am looking at buying a 40 foot container and having it delivered somewhere and then loading all the stuff in it. Adding some roof fans and calling it good.

But I need a place to put it for 3 to 6 years. So, if anyone has or knows someone that has room for a 40 foot container and would allow me to park it for a while for a nominal fee or other consideration, let me know. I would do a hold harmless in the case of a tornado or other disaster that destroyed my s***. One option I thought I could offer is that the savior could keep the container when I was done with it.

I do not yet have the container either and know there are many options for purchase and delivery of these things.

I have had some local ideas, offered a place a lake Hartwell too. Just exploring the options. Maybe a safe place in Manchester :hmm::idea:

Let me know guys. This option would make the move much less stressful.

I could probably find a place and hope I am still here in 6 years

;) I bet you will be as ornery as ever in 6 years.

And Rance, you can wheel the s*** out of it so long as whatever breaks is repaired when I get back :D

I have gotten a quote for some property at Lake Hartwell but I would prefer the Knoxville or Manchester option. There is a container distributor in Knoxville so I have emailed for a quote for a 40 footer delivered. I will see what it comes out to. It looks like it will be around $3300.

I know a guy up here in Memphis that has an empty container that the property owner wants to get rid of. Might not be worth all the trouble, but it might save you some $$$ on initial purchase.

I have a trailer I could deliver it with IF I can engineer a way to roll it on and off. Waiting to hear back from him what the asking price is and if it is in fact a 40'.

Edit: He's asking $2100 and says it's a certified container, meaning seaworthy. And we're pretty certain its a 40'.

Thanks. The quotes I got are all about $2300 plus about $500 delivery. It might be worth the extra $700 to forgo any engineering issues.

A friend of mine owns a Chicken farm in Dalton. He has offered me a spot and has also offered 110 power. That way I will be able to put a big dehumidifier in it. In return, I am going to give him the container upon my return.

Did you see this over in the Ga for sale thread yet? Its not a 40', but for the price....
"I have a 27' long Penske truck body to be used for storage for sale near Royston GA.... great to store your extra cruiser parts... a great deal at $800"
