For those running the LRA in your FJ40, is your gas gauge accurate? Mine works, but won't go all the way to full when full. It gets just below 3/4. New sender, gauge worked fine with stock tank. Would like to try getting the gauge to work properly before I go aftermarket sender and gauge. Wanting to see what others have done. Thanks

I was able to balance the resistance between a datsun sender in the rear aux tank with the stock toyota gas gauge by adding some 2% low value resistors. It would correctly read from 1/2 which was full to E which was empty. The front oem tank has never read correctly. You might need to bend the float/extend/shorten rod.

Odometer is the best gas gauge unless pushing mud with the bumper in low range low then its a stop watch in gallons per hour consumption.

Are you referring to the long range tank that goes underneath both the left and right seats on a 78 and older Land Cruiser? I had that tank in my Cruiser for over 20 years and my Gage would go to full. I happen to have that fuel gauge if you need it and I didn’t modify it at all. I just dropped it right in.
Yes, I have the 28 gal tank that's under the seats. If you don't need that gauge I will definitely take it off your hands. How much do you want for it?

Free if you pay shipping. Let me go under the house this weekend and pull it out to make sure that it didn’t get crunched by something falling over onto it.
Sounds good, man. Thanks

I will still take it if that's cool with you.
You bet though, I should clarify that I was mistaken. What I have is the sending unit and not the gauge
