I have always wondered whats with the horn on 60 series. :hhmm: Big ol loud (mine is anyway:hillbilly:) truck with a little *meep meep* horn. Some people I know (highschool kids, so please forgive our mindless thoughts) would think a good ol train horn would do just fine on my 62. I've seen it done on other trucks, none of which were cruisers. Is that really even legal to do?

Just some thoughts/questions

Well, from high school kid to high school kid; ya don't need it. What you have on there now is fine. Trust me, plenty of people find the train horn incredibly annoying and stupid. Depending on local laws, that's usually legal, but think about what a horn's purpose is anyway. It's not really supposed to sound intimidating, but it should be loud enough so that if needed in an emergency, it should be heard easily. Which it should be anyway.

I know I dont need it. But you see my Cruiser has got GlassPacks, so its pretty darn loud. And from inside the car you can hardly hear the horn :grinpimp:. But I know I dont need a train horn, its kind of one of those "ah what the hell" things that highschool kids get. IMO

Tojo could you post a vid of your glasspacks?

I'm curious to hear what it sounds like.

Spend your money on something worthwhile. My 2 cents.

I picked up some surplus hella horns, not overly loud, but the tones clash, so it's nice and noticable.

I'm getting one of those. besides you get a compressor that you can use for other things (tires), and if you ever drive in Puerto Rico... you will need a very loud horn.

Klinetime, I would if I could but all I could do would be a crappy cell phone video...:bang:
Sounds better than you would think IMO
EDIT: I can try and get a hold of a camera from a friend over break and see if I can get one on here.

Thanks man

you can also go to a picknpull or junkyard and find a horn from an older american car-- cadis have great horns. Probably under $5, easy swap.

I feel comfortable and assertive enough to honk my stock horn.
i am also very comfortable with my man-lee-ness within, even though the horn is a weak Beep beep..
I know my cruiser is bad a$$ i dont need the macho horn to prove it.
My 2 Cents

manly or not, in some places there are so many other noises happening that a louder horn is a good safety featuer

The stock horn is plenty load........... especially if you lay on it and dont lay off........All Im saying is ...he has glass packs louder than his horn....I think they know he's coming!

Loud trucks save lives! :hillbilly:
