This locker came in my LV. I can't figure out what it is.

It has side gears like an ARB, but no air line.

It has what appears to be engagement dogs visible through two windows in the carrier.

Other than the two small windows and a big one to access the side gears the carrier is solid.

It's the only diff I've seen that uses a round pin going longitudinally to hold the axles in the c-clip grooves. The two bolts between the spiders hold a 1"ish round spacer.

It does not have any markings.

If it's a lunchbox locker, it'll go in the pig. If it's a LSD it'll probably go back in the LV.

No one? I feel less dumb....a lil bit.

Whats the things in the middle of the opening in the first pic? can you unbolt that? when you do what is there?

odd.

So you have no way of taking that thing apart to look inside?

if it was installed with a driveline you could spin one side and see what happens.

I almost sold it with the SOA axle housing, but I pulled it because I spun the axle and both sides turned. That doesn't mean it's not a LSD. I couldn't hold an LSD and get the clutches to slip with my hand.

I could take the diff out, but what if all the parts fall out? I have no idea where to get an exploded view, or assembly instructions or even that spring that rolled away.

I didn't think it would be 117 views hard.

just take it apart slow. Im sure it will only go together one way.

and a limited slip if both sides had tires and one side was off the ground and the housing held in plaxe you should be able to get one side to slip since you could put much more force into it.

I am willing to bet it is a limited slip as a locker wouldnt have the spiders like that unless it was a selectable and with no wires or plumbing it must not be selectable. I just dont know what kind of limited slip.

The limited slip in my dodge was a neat design when i tore it apart, real easy to assemble again too and by moving the clutches around it is 150% more grabby now too.

That's fine information and all, but the housing did not have tires on it and the diff is currently sitting in a bucket, so it's pretty hard to test.
No I get that, just sayin is all. Sorry I cant offer more. I can tell you about pool parts tho! LOL

It is some kind of LSD, but not one I am familiar with. You can tell by the side and spider gears.

I would bet on it being a LSD. The Auburn limited slips look similar and have a tapered clutch surface between the case and side gears.

It's an LSD my buddy bought a third that had that exact same posi in it, I forgot the name of it though

I remember in the 90's sitting on some site looking at that LSD for one of my 40 projects, I may be wrong but .......
Auburn ?
