Looking for recommendations on a mechanic/shop to install 4.88's and front ARB in my 08 LC around metro ATL. I'm in N. Ga but willing to drive a little. Thanks

"Google much" with the link was pretty helpful I think.

I second both ACC and Trollhole. Can't go wrong with either.

How is "google much" a recommendation, which is what the OP asked for?

ACC is who I’d use. Why are you only locking the front?

ACC did the lockers and gears in my 470. They are top notch. I’m extremely happy.

I just googled it and it recommended front only.

Must have hit some bad results because only locking the front and leaving the rear open is virtually unheard of unless you blew up your front diff (early 100s had a “weak” 2 pinion front diff until 2000) and the cost to repair is the same for going stock or locking. I think any reputable shop and basically everyone here will tell you if you’re only going to lock one end definitely do the rear. Locking the front while wheeling is usually reserved for a last resort because it loads up the front and puts a ton of stress on everything making it much harder to steer and control particularly if you’re not used to it.

Your exactly right. And then I get everyone's 2 cents and questions about why would I install a front locker and no rear locker...maybe because I already have a rear locker. No worries though, its to be expected when dealing with online forums.

I don't have the time or inclination to have an internet fight. The OP asked for a recommendation. Any link would therefore be a recommendation.

In almost 3 years you've posted 19 times, and this is your contribution? Come on man.

Its actually comical. I come here for advice and get told to "google it." I then reference google and get advised of how google is incorrect! Hahaha. Thanks everyone.

Do you already have the rear locked? It’s a bit unusual to do just the front if you’re going through the expense...
I just googled it and it recommended front only.

My very first question to you was if you're locked in the back. You didn't answer, but you alluded to "no" as being your answer by saying you simply googled it and "it recommended front only". I would love to see that source btw. You sound like a newb (no offense) because you told us you wanted to lock the front only, which is incredibly uncommon and quite frankly just strange. I can't imagine any shop recommending that, and on the contrary I could see just about every shop trying to talk you out of that and doing the rear or front and rear.

No worries. I do already have a rear locker. Just looking to add front locker and 4.88 gears.

The OP asked for a recommendation. He did not ask if anybody knew of a place that did that kind of work. "Google much" is obnoxious and even with the link does not convey whether that is a recommendation or just an identification.

I thought this place was supposed to be all nice and sweet after the purge?
You are obviously missing something. Re-read the original post and then the rest of the thread. Youll find its all in order and appropriate. Hope you have a better day

I got the quote from ACC Garage to do the install. I have all the parts so this is labor only. Does this price seem fair?
