Does anyone happen to know a local place that can make high pressure hydraulic lines?

I am looking to reroute the steering (eliminate the ABS box) and need a custom high pressure line made.

Ideally I'd like the 3.4 PS pump banjo fitting on one end, and the 3.0 steering box fitting on the other end. I have the existing hose ends if that is helpful.

Thanks.

I wasn't aware of that. I'll have to go by and check that out.

Any idea as to whether they can (or will) reuse the ends I have? To me, getting compatible ends would be most of the battle.

Steve -

These guys may be able to help, and they are conveniently close. It would be worth a call. Although different, they did some fuel lines and fittings for me.

In my experience with one location - no. That doesn't mean they all will have that opinion though.

When you've exhausted these options, Granbury Supply/Hose Power is who we go to for hydraulic hoses for our Cats/Bobcats/Case equipment. That's real high pressure. They'll reuse your ends, I think, if they are reusable. They're in Mesa and near I17/Happy Valley Rd. They may have more locations.

Use Cat Hose. Its made by Weatherhead. Toughest hose I've ever seen. Not real flexible. But very abrasion/heat resistant. Also very expensive.

Funny thing: if you try to use duct tape (the real stuff) to seal a leaking hydraulic hose, the fluid doesn't even notice. The guys at work will do anything to avoid having me tell them their machine is going to be down while I have a hose made.

i use a small one man shop, he will not only use your ends if you want him to but you can hang out in the shop and watch him make it if he's not real busy,, AZ hose and fitting,,, um i think lemme check

We've got one of those in Tucson, makes stuff for our company loaders. Same thing, they'll make them up while you wait.

Broadway, near 36th st (next to the Sprint/Nextel store)

The Parker store on 36th st and Broadway did the hoses for my 60. They will use your ends and configure them however you want. SUPER cool cats to deal with and will turn the hoses around within hours if needed. They did my last ones while I waited. Took only 20 minutes or so.

IIRC, most NAPA's use Weatherhead fittings. I have seen them use both Weatherhead hose and Parker.

Just to update... I found a guy just up the street from me. Scottsdale Automotive, just West of Scottsdale and Thomas (480-945-1177). I believe Art is the owner, as well as the guy who did my PS line for me.

I took him the line from my 3.0 steering box and the 3.4 steering pump.

He cut both ends off, and then soldered them to a more standard high pressure fitting. We then checked the length I needed and he crimped some ends onto a new piece of hydraulic line.

Seems like a quality job, and he did it while I waited (and watched). I'll post back when I get this thing running if there is a problem with the line, but I should be good to go.
