My son and a couple of buddies went camping at Goose Lake, WA for five days. My daughter and I picked them up. This pic is she and I at the East Wind Drive In at Cascade Locks after picking up the boys.
The trailer is loaded with three coolers, two tents, a table, stoves, the usual camping gear, clothes, food and water. It's heaped. This is enough to tell me that when i get around to building a lockable top for the trailer, that it better be raised like a small truck canopy.
Gas mileage was 10 miles per gallon for the trip. This was with the loaded trailer and four passengers, and going into a strong headwind. Plus a third of the trip was over winding and badly washboarded gravel roads. I drove at 62 mph. Any faster and the wind was just too much. I was afraid the gas mileage was going to be worse. It's actually close to typical without the trailer and running light. I wonder if the trailer tires are helping. They're radials intended for trailer use only. As such the sidewalls are stiffer to prevent side to side sway, and the rolling resistance is supposed to be less than vehicle tires. The trailer handled well, especially with a load. The tongue does need to be longer, and I'll address that when I get a chance.
