I'm in the process of buying a Japanese Cruiser 1992 Prado, 2.5 diesel RHD, and trying to find a vendor for parts that are not listed in Japanese
Any suggestions are most welcome.
thanks
Joe

I like to use ToyoDIY.com or MegaZip.net - New Genuine OEM Japanese Parts Online Store to look up part numbers, which can then be used to check for availability elsewhere. If you are looking for filters they are available here in the States from a number of vendors. Check out Back40 Imports – Specializing in Diesel Land Cruisers, they have an online store, and can source most anything you will need.

Also, don't forget to post some photos of the Cruiser when you get it! I still miss my Prado, even though it could be a bit stressful at times! :)

Well, let me try-
suggestions for a "radio", need bluetooth, USB port(s) and add in a back-up camera if it can be added to the screen Navigation I have covered with my phone, but if thats possible...
My venture withe this truck is two fold.
When I was a kid I had a Land Rover and loved it.
Now I'm spending my kid's inheritance.
I love the cool factor of the Cruiser, hopefully without the Rover's expense and lack of reliability.
Was waiting for an Elio ( not even close to this rig, but met my needs -and after 50yrs on bikes) it seemed an easy do.
I'm getting to the point ( gonna be 75)when I complained to my kids the bathroom light goes on automatically, they told me to stop peeing in the refrigerator.!

Just be careful to check what oil filter mount/oil cooler you have. (Horizontal mounting vs Vertical mounting).
There are 2 different threads on the oil filters. As Airheadnut mentioned, check toyodiy, partsourq, or mega zip and then do the cross check for Fram, Bosch, or Wix.

The engine is a 2.4 litre 2LTE. It is a turbo charged version of the 2L and it will share some parts with the L, 2L, 2LT, 3L, 5L, 5LE
The ''E'' means it has some electronic gadget on the fuel injection pump.
Lots of parts on aussie ebay and other countries where they sell them.
