The windshield wipers on my Prado slow down dramatically when the vehicle slows down. The A/C also stops blowing cold when the vehicle slows down. (The A/C doesn't blow as cold as it should ever, even though it's been converted to 134a and is fully charged, it just does better at speed).

Wondering if there is a problem with the alternator? Voltage regulator? The AC Compressor may be going also, but the windshield wipers slowing down is a sign of something.

Thoughts please? And thank you.

My electrical has been doing that since I bought it, but has not got any worse. My A/C is the same as yours too. Annoying stuff that I'll eventually fix.

One of the guys on here bought a Corolla alternator spec'ed for higher current output and swapped the guts into his Prado alternator housing. He says that fixed all his problems. I think I'll do the same at some point; seems like the way to go. Here is the link to the post: My LJ78 build thread...

If you are lucky enough to have an auto electrical shop near you they can test the alternator and rebuild it if needed.
Voltage regulator too, if it is a separate unit.
The place thst used to be here tested for free.
