Hi all! I am considering to put the 2" Ome lift kit into my Prado. I can't decide whether to go with the soft or medium springs.
I load it sometimes with the backpacking stuff for our trips with 4 people in it but no overloading or towing in view.
Any ideas?
cheers Tom

When I put my OME lift in, the question was med or heavy. I went with the med, a great unloaded ride and will take a med sized/weighted load with no sag. If I put on my utility trailer (loaded) and a load in the back she begins to sag a little. I'm happy with the med, but some air bags would be nice to help with the occasional heavy load.

The OME springs will make the rear taller than the front, but when loaded to there spec, they should sit somewhat level.

I spoke to Don from 4Wheel and he advised me to use the heavy on the front because of the factory winch. I would rather prefer the same all around. Does the winch makes so much difference, that the heavy springs should be used?

I put the OEM winch in my KZJ78 and the front end dropped about 1 inch. The ride is much stiffer and I feel the front end is taking a beating for it.

Considering the Dobinson lift myself.

go dobbinson...
OME and Dakar suck.

i know, i have ran both on different LJ78s at the same time. i like the med but the heavy will be fine. of course you could consider airbags for those few times you are running a loaded rig.
