So I had this happen to me today. The truck was fine driving this morning, parked it for 4 hours the started it and all these lights came on and it was in limp mode, very difficult to drive. The gas cap had not been touched when this had happened but i checked it, didn't make a difference. Then I unplugged the battery for about an hour and after that no lights and it runs great now.
I am not sure what's up with it, I will be replacing the gas cap just in case.
If it comes up again i will have the codes read, a little confusing that it would happen without warning and then just go away like that.

Is yours a later model V8 with an air pump ?

It is a 2005 model.
It was happening randomly after sitting.
I replaced the gas cap since that was pretty beat anyways.
I will be ordering the bypass kit as well.
If the code comes up again I will have the codes read.

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. First I replaced the gas cap. Forgot I had a code reader laying around and got the P01445 code, which is related to SAIS system. Bought a bypass from RuTech and installed it, no more lights!

Like everyone else says, get the codes read if you can. There are (relatively) inexpensive reader out there.

Yes, they're great to have laying around for the occasional time you'll need them. And at $30-$40 bucks for a decent one, it's a no brainer.

How do I say this correctly, after something like 20 miles or 20 mins of driving, the check engine light can go off or reset. For me it was cleaning the gas cap rubber and reset the codes and good to go.

Each code clearing time frame varies by the pre programmed set of drive cycles Lexus determined. Sometimes codes are 2 fault codes meaning the system has to fail twice before the light illuminates, some are 1, etc.

I have installed the bypass kit.
I also ordered a bluetooth odbii module so i can do everything on my phone if needed in the future.
