Ok guys so here is the story. Recently decided to go ahead and make some mods the the Rig. She is a 2016 I bought brand new and now has 20k on the clock. Picked her up a week ago after the lift and noticed pulls to right. On highway slowly drifts to right. From stop pulls to right more with what seems like some torque steer (Steering wheel moves right). Slightly better when front end not unweighted like on acceleration or downhill.

Took her back to shop 2 days later and drove it with tech and he agreed its pulling right. Aligned it again and everything re torqued with all specs looking good and put more Castor in which he said should help. He and I drove it and its still pulling right.

Now Shop saying I need an adjustable rear Track bar which I ordered from Trail Tailor (Tough Dog).

Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!!

I bought a Dobinsons track bar that I plan to swap in this week or weekend bc of another issue. I find it hard believe less than 1/4” axle shift will make that much of a difference. But interested to hear what others say. It doesn’t seem like many people add the adjustable track bar with a lift.

I feel this comes up a lot, not anyones fault on here, but we do need to get the word out more...

Rear adjustable track bar will NOT fix this issue. The truck has a bad alignment. It's a full time 4 wheel drive with a lot of powder and weight. It, by nature, is more sensitive to less than ideal alignments.

Please post your alignment specs, and let's see if we can find fault there first.

Chiming in since I've had my fresh BP51 setup for about a week on my 16. Mine tracks dead straight under all conditions, BUT it was aligned 3 times. My buddy is known for his high quality work on specially vehicles and does a lot of alignments. He told me when I picked it up, it's not a "set it and forget it" situation with some vehicles after the lift. Showed me the alignment specs, spot on, drive 5 miles, come back, out of spec, align again, repeat. 3rd time it was perfect.

Not sure how relevant this is, just repeating what I was told and currently enjoying my rig dead straight.

I agree with you guys, It probably (hopefully) just needs some serial realignment as it settles. I have about 200 miles on since the lift and I think its mildly improved. I guess some of the springs settling in has helped. I'll put a few more miles on and get it realigned again. Still cant get over how much better the truck feels driving. Amazing! Thanks for the Input and help.

Wanted to give you all some follow up on this. Took my truck to a specialty shop here in Georgia named Gran Turismo East. I have taken a sports car or two here for work over the years. They took over an hour and aligned the truck, not the 15 min its all green and your good to go style. Im happy to report she now drives straight as an arrow. Its refreshing to see true experts work a problem and get it right. Shout out to Jeff and Gabe for incredible work. This is the place to take your truck for alignment in Georgia. Hope everyone is healthy and safe.

Thanks for the update. I am having my lift and UCA (tough dog 45mm) installed and was concerned about what you were encountering. Have had horrible experiences with bigO tires doing just that, getting the alignment within the green and calling it a day. Results were less then mediocre.

I found a dedicated suspension and alignment shop in Northern CA that is familiar with Toyota trucks and the land cruiser (KDSS). I’ll post an update tomorrow with my results.

What were your caster and camber numbers, Would you mind posting the alignment sheet showing your specs?

i have the tough dog set up, sans the UCA's and have had zero issues. I had it installed by my local toyota dealership...

Here are some more Pics as requested. Aside from the slight pull to right, its drives 100% better than stock!

I have a few questions for you if ya don't mind,, I just bought last week a 2018 with 11,000 miles on her in pristine condition and have alread received my 2722 springs and my Bp51 set-up will be here tomorrow or the next day. I as well will be running you same tires and size

1. Are you running the 1.25 wheel spacers or any at all ?

2. Is the front and back set-up at 2 inches, the rear end on yours seems a bit higher than the front ?

3. I see you removed the front mud flaps, did you have a rubbing issue ?

4. Am I going to have a issue if I don't buy UCA's

Thank you

Awesome! It truly transforms the truck.

to answer your questions

1. No wheel spacers. Wheels are 18in Fuel Vectors with 20mm offset. No issues.
2. Lift is set at 2 inches up front. Basically left the spring height set at ARB Specs since using their bull bar and a winch. Its set for this weight from factory. Springs are 2722 in rear. I like a little rake for when there is some fishing gear and passengers. She has settled a little further with some miles too.
3. I removed the front mud flaps prior to the lift for the wheel and tire combo. They had a slight rub on them pre lift.
4. If you are doing this put UCA's on it IMO. You're alignment guy will love you for it. The extra ability to adjust caster further really helps.

Be sure to put a few pics up here when your done. We love land cruiser lift porn!!

Well I had originally planned not to use UCA's but after reading everything in here, I immediately ordered a set of SPC'S

My set-up is as follows

Oldman bp51 set at 2"
Stock wheels because i really like them once I get them Powdercoated black
1.25 spacers
295/65/18 tires

Here is a picture of what I am trying to achieve

Fishinsea, I’m going to hunt down a LC like yours. Any tips or price$# to target the newer the better, the lower miles and condition essential, your yr and miles are ideal for me how much should I be ready to spend and how do you mitigate some purchase tax. Hate the same vehicle can be sales taxed indefinitely. Thanks, Scott. Also if anybody knows of a excellent example please contact me.

Go here and look

Mine was for sale for $72K with 11,000 miles on it I had a tundra that I traded in which got my purchase price to $67K then they gave me $15K for my tundra. It was a lot of work finding a 1 owner no accidents low mileage LC200 within distance to me, can't help you with the tax questions, but I assure you that you will pay dearly in tax

As far as buying one, now has to be an incredible time. I helped a buddy negotiate a brand new 2020 in Feb. Sticker was 87k bought at 74k. That was Feb so now might even be able to get a new one at your price point. Worth a try.
