yesterday I took my lc to the dealership to change the brake pads at the quick service center, and i saw my front axle boot is leaking grease on the lower a-arms.

as today i went to the dealership main garage "workshop" to get it fixed. he told me that he will fix it, but it will be back after 3-6 months, because of my 2" lift that changes the axle angle, as they face it alot with the lifted FJ Cruisers...

is he right ?? how can i solve it ?? anyone here with a lifted lc200 facing the same problem ?

thought about a diff drop kit will solve the problem, but i couldnt find any one who makes them "just e-mailed slee offroad and waiting for their replay"

The 100s have this problem, that is why there is a diff drop for them. For the 200, all pics I've seen of the frame show that the front cross member is welded to the frame. So yes, they're right but I think the time frame is way, way too short for the boot to start leaking again.

Thanks for the info, i just got a reply from Mr.Slee, and he told me exactly what u said "Sorry, but the diff crossmember is welded on the 200, so you can no make a removable diff drop"

Try using aftermarket bands/clamps on the CV boots that enable you to get a tighter fit than OEM bands. I tried the Toyota bands twice on my 100 and my boots leaked a few months after my lift and again a few months after trying new Toyota bands. I purchased a generic band from a local part store that allowed me to specify how tight I wanted the band. I now have several years with no leaks and no cuts in the boot rubber from over tightening.

I 2nd this! West Marine supposedly, per other 100 rebooters :D carries a narrow (1/4" wide) SS screw type band clamp that sits in the boot recess per the factory clamps.

There are several manufacturers selling diff drops for the Tundra (Same as the 200). They drop the front of the diff only, using two spacers, and leave the rear welded mount alone. I have not seen or installed these kits, but no one that is using it has reported problems.

Tighter clamps and a good sealant applied between the boot and CV Joint also works very well. The boot and the section of joint where the boot contacts it need to be TOTALLY free of grease when doing this.

It happened to me too. 2" lift at 23000 miles, leak at 25000 miles, tightened band, still holding at 26000 miles.

I just lifted my LC 200 last week when my installer noticed grease all over the place from the CV boot. Took it to Toyota and they ended up replacing the entire front right axle. By the way, the fixed it in two days. So make sure they take it apart and really look at it. It may be more than replacing the boot.

well i changed the boots, oem toyota parts, hopefully will hold up for some time, but when its leak again ill take the guys advise and buy and fix bands/clamps and tight them as i see it proper....

thanks guys for all the help u provided me with ;)
