I am currently running stock shackles on my fj40 and would like to get abot another 1" of lift, the shackles that I have now are 3" eye to eye, if I go to bout 5" eye to eye is this going to change the way that it handles and Am I going to have to change anthing in my steering.

Your steering will be affected some. I expereinced more wander on the road. How much will be dependant how tight things are now. You may need to add spring shims to help correct it.
