All,
I have a two-post asymmetric lift in my shop and I was wondering what are the best lift points for a 1986 BJ70. The lift manual does not include information for the BJ70 (just 60 and 80 series Cruisers). I have lifted the 70 by placing the forward lift pads under the crossmember/transmission support and the rear lift pads under the frame. Both of these points are the forward and aft most points on the center portion of the frame before it starts curving upwards to clear the axles. However, this still leaves the lift forward & aft arms fairly close together with no extension on the aft arms (i.e., no latitude to adjust the truck for CG positioning). I have lifted the truck safely several times, but it seems 'bouncey' on the lift compared to any other vehicle that I have put on the lift, so I may be doing it wrong.
I am including a couple of pictures to show the truck on the lift and the lift points that I used. I would appreciate your advice and insight for proper lifting of my BJ70. Thanks
