Thanks. I see most people leave the trim on while painting it. I'm gonna have it a shot one of these weekends.
I'm having my trim painted now. Had to replace a rusty rear hatch and figured I'd have the trim painted at the same time. Found a Toyota paint and body guy who does small jobs on the side. He recommended leaving the trim on. He said it's easy enough to tape off and that once you pull it off it never really stays on as well when you reattach it.

Thanks for the info

My 2001 LC on a backpacking camping road trip with my son from Southern California into Canada. Pic with Rainer in the background, and another where he was able to cross a stream with no issues. The LC has 243K miles, and in his words, runs great! He will have driven 4000 miles and I am not at all concerned with my trucks reliability! Preventative maintenance done prior - new plugs, coils, all fluids drained and replaced, brake flush, coolant flush, new spare tire (old one was unused from 2001!), shocks etc. I love my LC!

I always want to drive from SoCal to Canada. But the gas bill just doesn't make sense. :( Happy for you that you made the trip! Definitely post more pics! I'll just live vicariously through you

Went old school with some halogen fog lights. Tied them together from the underside of the bumper with an aluminum angle bracket similar to what they use for mounting garage door openers. It comes with a bunch of holes in it so you can just use the ones that are at the right width. We'll see how it does at high speeds. I don't anticipate and vibration issues though.

Digging the spare tire on the tailgate. I wished they made it for USDM
