Torn between the Dissent and the Gamaviti expo ++. In terms of the dissent I like the aluminum (lightweight, rust proof) and ease of shipping. The Gamaviti I like for the handles (flipped down) and the sunroof cutout (I’ve had water in the cruiser triggering the horn....not happy neighbors.

Can anyone comment on the following:
1. How much is a PITA to install the Dissent (alignment)?
2. Is it easy to clean out the sunroof drains with the dissent?
3. Is it right to assume that the dissent is lighter than the gamiviti?

Thanks!

Can't speak to the dissent, but I was really surprised at how lightweight the gamiviti rack is. And so stout. I was buying last fall and was torn between the two. I don't think you can go wrong. Install/alignment will only be one time

As long as I keep the sun shade closed on the sunroof I don’t even know it’s there. I can hear a little wind noise at Hwy speed if it’s open, but closed it’s essentially zero.

Does anyone know which roof rack has the lowest profile?

The Gamiviti can be crazy low. If you don't do the lightbar dropdown option like mine, it could be practically slammed less than 1/2 inch from the roof. Even with the lightbar dropdown, mine is 1/8 inch lower than the factory roof rack.

So approve of those wheels ;)

I would have thought the rack would sit a lot more flush to the roof... 🤔

They can if you flip the "expo" bars to face up or get one without the "expo" bars or lightbar dropdown. In the end, the Gamiviti are very low profile even with "expo" and lightbar. After 2 years of owning mine, I'll never own another rack. The lightbar dropdown is actually very cleverly engineered so that it creates a "shield" of sorts blocking the light from the lightbar cascading across your hood.

To circle OP all the way back around, Prinsu racks are now available for the 100 series.

nice camp spot there...

Have a front runner FJC rack mounted on Thule cross bars. I need to get the mounting brackets in order to properly mount it on the LX

I've had both the Gamiviti and the Front Runner. Both are great racks. I prefer the Front Runner because of the T-slots on the slats and rails. Also my Yakima box fits nicely on the Front Runner.

Added some expedition rails, Foxwing awning, solar shower mount, and the all important bottle opener.

What are the dimensions of the front runner? The one on the sure seems too small at 77". Thanks

I think they changed the dimensions when Front Runner updated from the Slimline 1 to Slimline 2 design. Mine is the slimline 1 which is the full length of the land cruiser. Don't remember the exact length, but probably around 85"

There was a thread on the length change:

You can buy an extension, I think it is 12", that will make it as long as the old model. But it all goes in front of the front mount and FR told me they won't warranty the rack if you add it.
