Lesson Number Four:
Perfect Conditions.

If you have ever read an online advertisement from Spain you may have seen the phrase "perfectas condiciones". This is like driving the US highways and seeing signs claiming WORLD FAMOUS pancakes or chili or doughnuts... It is an over used catch phrase to trap the passerby in hopes of making a sale. Marketing!

I have met enough local sellers and taken plenty of interesting vehicles to be tested for clients and my own interest to Toyota to know this catch phrase means nothing to a discerning buyer. I am not a mechanic but I have been working on vehicles for over 20 years. I don't trust my eyes only to evaluate vehicles for clients, therefore, I take prospective vehicles to Toyota for pre-sale inspection and compression testing.

My assessor at Toyota has over 20 years experience. I have a dedicated mechanic with over 27 years of experience working at Toyota, one who has won national and regional competitions for theory and practical application. I work closely with the parts team who combine for over a 100 years of experience working for Toyota. This is my trusted team to evaluate, repair, and make sure the job gets done the right way.

So when I meet a seller claiming he has a Land Cruiser in perfect condition besides the AC not blowing cold that only needs a "recharge" or a clutch that is stiff because "that is how Land Cruisers are supposed to be..." I relay all information to my client, and allow them the opportunity to choose whether or not to take it further for more in depth analysis by my team at Toyota.

Buying a vehicle on the other side of the world sight unseen does not have to be an exercise in faith. When working with Canary Island Rover it is a process of measured checks and balances that limit risk until the desired outcomes are possible. Integrity, transparency, and quality are the foundations of our business, and what separate us from the rest.
