I am trying to find an awning for the rear hatch. I am looking for legless options. No need to get into it, but I use my truck far more often for work then for pleasure, and I need to access my rear hatch for tools every day, all times of day/night and in all weather. As much as I would love a batwing, I was looking for something smaller like the Hannibal, and I found info looking through threads about an African Outback, but after doing some searching, I cannot find it, or any page, or even photos. What about any other good sturdy options? I am close to welding one up myself. The aluminum is no problem. I have no idea how to do the canvas. I would rather buy one. It would be nice to find one cheaper than the Hannibal though unless I am talked into it for a good reason.

Weld up the frame and take the truck to either an upholstery shop or a boat shop. They’ll set you up with the canvas. I’ve been thinking about doing this same thing sinc Hannibal is no longer an option in the US.

After using many different awnings I'm a huge Hannibal fan. I've had two and they're leaps and bounds ahead of anything else.

If you have access to someone who's a skilled aluminum welder I'd say build your own frame, then have a sail/canvas shop make the shade component.

Hmm...I need a new one too. Good idea!!

I am a welder so the frame won't be a big deal for me to weld up, just a matter of time. Good idea about going to a place that works on boat sails. That might be my solution.

I was looking at Fiama but they look really bulky. Are they as heavy as they look?

And the Shady Boy look great, but they look a little light weight to me. At least their promo video made it look like it would blow away if it was not tied off. (The yoga pants were a little distracting though. Maybe I should watch it again...) I need something I can set up quickly in the rain.
