Kelty now also offers the Highroads shelter. It's something like the Backroads, except more tent-like and roomier.
All 3 pack away into a small enough bag that you can bring along more than one to suit different needs. Also, the Backroads and Highroads can be attached to the side of the vehicle so more t;han one can be used at a time along with the Waypoint.
I like this better than the kelty tarp thing I have. If I was buying now, I'd get this.

The Kelty Backroads is the one i was thinking of.
Apparently my wife bought one a while back and likes it. I haven't seen it set up

IMHO, the aluminum poles are the best feature compared to fiberglass on the Backroads shelter. The 1 star reviews of the Backroads are not kind with the fiberglass poles. The chart that compares the Kelty shelters shows them to be the same length. So I may be ordering some poles if they’re available. It would really suck to not have reliable poles.
I'd go all in and bet that you'll eventually hate it :D
You could be right. Reading through the one star reviews on Amazon, the fiberglass poles are a big point of complaints.

Agreed. I’m liking what I see in the Highroads better than my Backroads. If my fiberglass poles start to delaminate or crack, I’ll try ordering aluminum poles from Kelty. They look to be the same length. Mine have been fine so far.

Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp

We primarily use it on the beach but I've used it camping with it attached to a tree. It has a variety of uses and is huge. It stores in a long bag. The powder coating on the poles is junk and mine started rusting badly. I replaced them with longer carbon fiber poles I got off Amazon. I wouldn't hestitate to get another Slumberjack even though I've got an OVS 270 awning as well.

OVS awning was $700+ and needs an aftermarket roofrack.
The Slumberjack was less than $100.
