Steve

I ordered the 9006 and 9005 headlights from you. I went to install them and have found I made a mistake. I looked on one of the parts suppliers websites (rock auto) and it said I needed the above mentioned bulbs. You know it is my brothers truck so it actually lives 40 miles from me so I went with what I researched online instead of looking at the actual truck.

When I went to install the low beams, I found out they are H1's. They are a projector style setup. So the 9006 absolutely does not work in this situation. I started a thread here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/790915-help-led-headlights.html Will there be anything coming out for H1 bulb replacement?

Also, I used the 9005 in the high beams on his truck and they did plug and play. He was pleased with the light but I did not know that Lexus uses the high beams for the DRL's. So according to responses from my other thread, evidently there is a ballast in the high beam circuit that cuts the voltage in half during the daylight hours so that your high beams are your DRL's. Do you have any idea how these 9006 LEDs will react to a voltage drop?

These wrong bulbs are my fault and no fault of Southeast Overland. I just didn't do my homework. I may end up keeping these and using them in my 80 or my 100 series (Toyota, not Lexus).

My brother really likes the ones I put in his high beams so I am trying to figure out what I can do for his truck to get him bright white headlights.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I also posted a reply in your other thread too.

Thanks for your business and sorry you are having issues with your high beam headlight install. I checked Sylvania's website and it calls for a 9005 for high beams so that checks out - and it calls for an H1 for low beam so that might be the issue. We don't have H1s available currently but will in March.

Just hollar at us at Sales@SoutheastOverland.com if you want return those headlights. We will give you a RMA and get them headed back our way, postage paid. We can either give you your money back or send you a pair of replacement H1s when they are available.

Also, we keep many of these headlights in stock in our store and the warehouse almost always has them in stock now. Shipping is usually same day or next day out the door so availability is very good.

As to the DRLs running at half the juice, can you measure the voltage? We have had DRLs work on Jeeps with the CANBUS system but we haven't tested them ourselves on a LX or Cruiser DRL.

Thanks again!

Hey Steve,

Are the H4 bulbs back in stock? Thinking of a pair of these for the 4Runner.

Has anyone installed these (H4) into an aftermarket housing on a 60 (round headlights)?

I'm sure someone has but I haven't personally. We are waiting on in house replacement housings for sealed beams so the plan is for us to do exactly what you are doing very soon with products all from Lifetime.

Thanks!

So lifetime is making housings? I need some 5x7s for my pickup. Need a test mule :D I will volunteer.

Was thinking of a set for my 60 with the hella housings I already have. If someone has pics to show me that would be great.

I just put in my order for a '79 FJ40. I'll give them a try!

Are H1 available?

Still not a lot of info on these. Any pictures for us 60 series guys, what do these bulbs look like installed in a housing? How far do they stick out into the engine bay?

If you give us a call, and tell the person on the phone you are a mud member you will get 10% off! There is no coupon code because that would get out in the interwebs and people who are not mud members would surly abuse it.

Give us a call at 864-280-4238 we will be happy to hook you up.

Yes, they are effectively plug and play, and they are BRIGHT. Just recheck the alignment when you are finished.
