Leather seat choices

Morning,

I’ve been looking into new leather seats for my chewed, mismatched up cloth 1990 FJ80.

I was originally going to go with Katskin until they 120% increased their price to have the 3rd row done. I was going back and forth with them for like 20 emails to get an accurate price, they were always dodgy.

I’m looking at L Seat now. They have all 3 rows for a reasonable price. The upholstery guy I use says their good. Waiting on a color sample to come in now.

Does anyone have experience with the L Seats?

As per @jonheld 's subtle guidance on doing a basic search, i have now fitted the LSeat leather in 3 of my cruisers. I always seem to bitch about quality issues after 3 or 4 years of use but their price is spot on and not really a big deal of i end up swapping them out 5 or 6 years down the road. I don't need a Louis Vuitton tote bag when an IKEA bag works just fine

I did search, I guess I didn't come up with results. I may have not been using the right key words, or just dumb ass user error. Thank you. my search bar is fixed. I'm doing some reading now. L Seat doesn't seem like a great choice. They aren't cheap, and for a little more money one can get something of seemingly better quality.

I'm interested in seeing what you find for "a little more money". The difference between Lseat and say LCH or Mosley, is typically a factor of of 2 or 3. Lseat are definitely not the best out there but becareful when doing comparisons. Lseat have a few options (fake leather, real leather etc.) So make sure you compare like for like.

So I appreciate all the insight. I reached out to L Seat with the concerns. They said they offer a 2 year warranty. I asked about their product failing at 4 years, they said that’s what happens to leather, even OEM when it’s abused, or not cared for.

I said okay.

I also looked up general internet reviews, doesn’t look good for L Seat. A solid case of you get what you pay for.

With that being said I’ll be reaching out to one of the other reputable companies.

Let me know if you want to sell that cloth driver's seat bottom cover, It doesn't look ripped. I'm going with canvas seat (over the top) covers anyway but id rather not cover up ripped cloth.

Lseat bottom @7 years, but last 5 have been really low use. Part of the problem is the foam was not sound and not replaced. Punched "Buy it Now" button on new Katzkin today.

How much was the Katskin? I have Lseat and it's completely shot. I installed my covers in 2017 and now they look like they match the 30 year old vehicle.

I am at $1,800+ for the leather first two rows. Part of my Lseat "failure" relates to the breakdown of the bottom pad, so I am planning for new seat bottoms and one seat back -so $550. Finally, guessing heat at $250.

My daughter is going to get a nice rig....

Katskin quoted me $5,500 for 3 rows on a 1990 FJ80. There were originally at $2,500 including install, but they doubled the price on me before purchasing… they said they didn’t have the 3rd row and would have to hand make it..

That did not include headed/cooled option.

FWIW, My understanding is the "installer" gets the kit and installation includes all but those items beginning with "R" and circled in red. So, I have to negotiate with installer to get the center console "FAC" and arm rests on the doors installed. I own everything in the kit.
