Hello everyone, new to the group, just got the truck and somehow lucky i fixed the smog lol. Now Wondering if anyone have the same leak they experienced with my transfer case. Leak also drop to the metal that support the transfer case.
I have like a couple of drip after 50-60miles travel. Does refilling help? Every 1000miles? Or what would be the cause? Does seal repair oil helps?
And 2nd i found a used TC for sale bit only mentioned for land cruiser seller dont know which year and so do I. ;-( and lol. I will attached the leak and the used TC. I hope no one will answers Google it. Hahaha just kidding.

That does not look like a 80 series transfer case.

If you want help you need to take better pictures, document areas where you are concerned by adding arrows to point at specific locations.

Thank you Phil For the reply and also with the used TC. appreciate it. I will take pictures tomorrow. I also tried old pictures to point an arrow. not sure if this help too.

Yes, the photos will help. With the existing photos it's hard to determine what angles they are being taken from.. The two spots that show drips are coming from a source from above the circle in the second picture. The transfer case has a breather that may be disconnected or the case may have ben overfilled. Please detail how often you are adding gear oil.

Mine has a slow leak that matches yours. In my case it's automatic transmission fluid (red) from the rear seal of the transmission. The transfer case uses gear oil which looks and smells different than ATF.

It's on my to do list but I keep finding other things to do instead of dropping the transfer case to take care of it :)

^ this. Red fluid = ATF. Trans output seal. Need to pull the transfer out to replace it. Hours of work to replace a $5 seal that takes about 5 seconds to actually install.

yes, its a reddish color fluid. and that bracket support in your pictures(arrow starts) also shows presence of fluid. I suspect i have the same rear seal transmission leak.
So sorry guys that i wasn't able to take pictures in details. Work issue. will try tomorrow its my off day :)

hi mudh8ters, looks like my leak was from the square hole of the transmission that flows to my TC? so its confirmed its the rear seal of the transmission? or something else? . Will the AT 205 helps, can I still support it like adding fluid for now and fix it later? any advise is very much appreciated.
