leak - how bad is this?

Similar leak on my 62 (assuming the leak is from the car and not you !). Changed the pan gasket and stopped 99% of the leak. Was oozing at the back of the pan while sitting

i'll probably try and change the oil pan gasket. probably won't hurt even if it's not needed. at that time i can check to see if there are any holes in the seam of the skid plate and the bottom of the pan. how much do new pans cost?

it's a really clean truck though, and i'd be surprised if the culprit is rust. could be though.

I have read on this board where some people have bought new oil pans when that was the problem. However, if you can find the source, I do not see why a good welder could not scab on a plate to cover the problem from the inside???

well...no brake cleaner, but i wiped it all down w/ a rag earlier today.

again, the engine is "wet" higher up, so there might be issues there too. but after i wiped it down...the drip appeared again pretty quickly, but i couldn't really find any trails leading down from higher up in the engine. plus i was doing this all out on the street without it jacked up (ie: not very comfortable).

i think a friend is going to let me use his driveway to change some gaskets...or at the very least check things out a bit better. i can try to clean the engine better at that point to make it easier to pinpoint.
