Wild! I checked out months ago when it was obvious the plans were delayed beyond a reasonable time frame for most to schedule for. I hope to make next years and I hope that they offer a larger number of slots for attendees.

Got a spot, was sort of on the fence but it happens to line up with one of my Fridays off already so here we go!

Waitlisted too 🙁 Flight was delayed by 3 hours last night and forgot to set an alarm for registration, doh.

Someone said Old Town so did a bit of looking and there are still rooms at this one: The Armstrong Hotel | A Historic Fort Collins Old Town Hotel - https://thearmstronghotel.com/

Refundable until 48 hours out which is nice if plans change--looks to be a in a neat area that is walkable to a lot of restaurants and close to the CSU campus
I had a room at the Armstrong in 2020. It was quaint and nice. A few blocks away is the Elizabeth Hotel where we are staying this year.

I’ll be coming from Houston.
Same. Probably leave Sunday or Monday with overlanding trailer. Hit some rest/tent stops along the way.

waitlisted!
Were alumni supposed to get the opportunity to register early, or was i wishful thinking?

Got In, see you guys in July. Also got a reservation at the Fort Collins Marriott (350 E Horsetooth Rd), would be nice to be close to some other cruisers.

Only trail leaders were able to register in advance. We decided to open registration to everyone at the same time this year given both that there's less overall capacity and it didn't really work out that well last year. We'll go back to the drawing board for next year's registration since capacity will definitely be higher.

I haven't dug into the waitlist details, yet. Soon enough I'll be happy to share information on a 1:1 basis since we do typically have some churn even close to the event.

Also, last I checked, we do have a couple open spots reserved for qualified people interested in leading trails. Reach out to me if you're interested.

I’m local to Fort Collins, so let me know if anyone has any questions or would like me to scope something out in the run up to the event.

As for places to stay, most of the earlier mentions in the thread are good. The Elizabeth is probably the most high-end hotel here - right in the heart of Old Town with lots of restaurants and shops around. The parking garage for guests has a pretty aggressive height limit IIRC, something like 7’8” - I can go check it out if anyone is worried. I typically avoid the garages in Old Town with my rig because of the limits. A RTT or equipment up top probably keeps you out of most garages.

Breweries in Fort Collins are great and would be a cool hangout afterward. I have a friend at New Belgium and could look into event logistics if there is interest (it’s also fine to hang out there and other breweries informally).

Anyway, feel free to hit me up with questions about the area or if you want help from a local figuring something out.

Bummer!! I got waitlisted too. I had that week saved for vacay from work too for a few months now. I saw the email until that Sat evening thanks to a friend who asked me on Instagram, but it was too late. I guess if you missed that one email reminder, there was no other way to find out reg day/time opened. I’ll prob still make out a trip to Ouray or something in Colorado… since I’ve been going to CO summer since I got me HE.

We sent out a few waitlist invites today. Once this round comes up we'll kick off the series of email updates to share more information about the event, signing up for trails, etc. It's always a bit slow to get to this point but things will move pretty quickly from here.

I know I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but for anyone looking to do some pre-LCDC wheeling, reply or PM me. My 15 year old and I are loosely planning to camp in Moab July 2-7 and then Ouray July 7-12. He's started looking at the Funtreks guides to build a plan but we've not yet booked campgrounds so we're pretty flexible, and other than a few specific trails like Top of the World I think what we try to do will depend on who else decides to come. I likely won't do anything harder than that trail unless I'm with a group who are all better than me.

My goal is 2-4 other trucks - a big enough group to explore with help but small enough we're able to stay together. It's also a reasonable size to do an overnight trip like kokopelli or lockhart. We've not settled on tent vs trailer yet for camping... I think my son wants to do tents but I'm not sure I want to do that for 2 weeks

Obviously you don't have to be going to the LCDC on the 12th to join, but we will be.

How do I register or get an invite? I understand I'll end up on a waitlist...
