Well, don't own one yet, but I started to see folks around with new ones... so, why not to start a thread for REAL MPG !

Let's hear it !

And hopefully in xxxx years, after xxxx posts, these will prove us wrong or right after xxxxxx miles !

😊

We could direct people to Government fueleconomy where they can register and then update there mileage.
Benefits of Registering: If you register, you will be able to save your MPG information and view, edit, or update it later. You will also be able to share your MPG with others. Fueleconomy.gov retains no information that could be used to identify any individual with a user name or password.

Fuelly.com likely has more users and has a free phone app.

@mike23 reported 22.3 mpg on his first impressions.

I really like the 1958. ~1500 miles, almost all highway, driven. I used a mix of regular and premium (I didn’t realize it took premium until half way down). Real world driving 75-85 most of the way mpg was 22.3. Lots of climbing and the mpg really suffered there. I had it in eco mode a majority of the trip.

'I wish that it had acoustic glass'. Such a simple thing to miss on. Vid states that Taco has it.

Do all trims of Taco have acoutglass or only Limited? I test drive a new Taco Off-road and thought it was rather loud inside.

I only got 16.8 MPG on my first refill.
Mine is the First Edition with Nitto 265/70R18 Ridge Grappler tires swapped by SE Toyota.
I don't think an AT tire in the OEM size would make that much difference.
Using the MPG display, I rarely hit 20MPG on a trip and I am using premium fuel so far.
I'm a little concerned.

FE with toyo AT's - averaging high 19's with 600 on the odo. Mostly eco mode, secondary roads.
Hoping these numbers go up..way up.

I mean, my 200 with 33s gets 10-11 around town. I'm LUCKY to get 250miles/tank.

Any update with the MPG? Just bought a 250 and I’m looking into the same tires.

My 40 year old FJ60 with its 4.2L inline 6 cylinder carburetor fed engine gets 15mpg on the highway consistently- for 40 years.
Granted, the 2F engine isn’t anywhere as advanced as the LC250 engine, but still…., that’s an enormous amount of very complicated tech for only a 1.5mpg improvement.

You can’t judge an engine on one person’s experience. EPA numbers are pretty accurate these days. Once broken in, these should get 23 mpg average. Reviewers, such as TFL, are able to achieve the EPA 25 mpg on highway tests.

Not to mention the LC250 weighs 800 lbs more. It has been mentioned before, these sit idling not racking up any miles while they are prepared prior to arriving at dealerships. People need to reset the trip computer to begin getting a more accurate idea of real world mpg’s and let the initial break in period take place.

I'm at about 3K miles and my average MPG has definitely increased since new.
Stock size Toyo open country's and sans roof rack, I've gone from 19+/- per tank to high 22's.

I just crossed 1000 miles on the ODO. I haven't been driving it to work, but had a couple of weekend trips.
I'm using premium so far, ECO mode, and I've been easy on the throttle. Most highway miles have been average of 75MPH.

First four refills:
16.9 MPG (first)
18.7 MPG
17.5 MPG
18.4 MPG (last)
These are calculated from mileage and refill volume, not from the display. The last trip was mostly highway miles.

The highest I've seen on the display was 23MPG on a segment of a level road at constant 60 MPH. I've never broken 20 MPG on the trip computer.

I am very interested in feedback from others.

My experience with my 2013 Land Cruiser is that fuel economy on the highway is very sensitive to speed. I suspect you'll gain 1-2 mpg by slowing to 70 mph.

Do you have a roof rack on it? I suspect a roof rack would likely take another 1 mpg.
