Can anyone who had converted your LX470 to regular spring/shocks with the LC parts give me the part numbers so I can order the right parts?

I have been having the boucing problems with the AHC system on my 2001 LX470 and have decided to go ahead and convert them to the regular suspension system. I have looked at the Slee / Cruise Outfitters/ Strutmasters kits but keep hearing that getting the OEM LC springs and the Bilstein shocks is the best way to go.

What would be the correct parts to order to be sure that they will fit in my LX470? Can someone give me the complete list of all the parts you have purchased when you did your conversion?

thanks for any help you can give ...

Converting to the LC Suspension requires Torsion Bars, Springs (of your choice, you have plently of options if you tow, or want lift. You can also go to a stock spring. Mine are sitting in my basement and can send to you) and shocks. Bilstein (I believe) have the best ride short of going remote res and big $$$$$. They are very cheap for such a nice shock at a little under $300 off ebay.

Believe me, I did search high and low and did not find what I needed ...

I keep reading LC OEM springs, shocks, ... but what exactly should I be looking for? That is, what model year of Land Cruiser, what model, what part numbers, ...? I can't just go to a Toyota dealer and ask for shocks and springs without giving them any other pertinent information. That's not going to work.

I am just looking to install a regular suspension system once and for all to keep me from pouring money into the existing problematic AHC system.

Anyone who has done the actual conversion?

thanks,

call cdan (username on ih8mud), tell him what you need and what you are trying to do. He will know and get you taken care of, including 25% off parts.

Just go to any toyota parts website and order rear coils (theres a right and a left), rear shocks, front torsion bars (R & L), and front shocks.

Hi,

I did this a few years ago nd her's the partslist I got from CDan at the time. If I were doing it again, I'd add in the LC Torsion bars as well. They add more expense and there are different opinions as to whether they are necessary.
