Hi all, someone knocked off and broke my driver side mirror. Any insight if this can be repaired DIY fairly easy without removing interior door panel?

It will have to be replaced

I have noticed a few of these taking place in NYC. Could this be someone trying to steal it: does not look like a hit and run as the mirror housing is intact.

If you do not want it to fold, (anyway if you decide to get a new, this mirror will be parts or trash), so try this: Clean both surfaces, and JB weld it.

Hah this just happened to my LS430. I was backing out of my driveway and my mirror caught the top of the trash bin as the car went down the slope. Same breakage point.

The part that is broken is a solid metal shaft. I took mine apart and concluded there is no way to put it back together, epoxy or JB weld would be very difficult to apply as the portion inside the mirror just shifts up when you apply pressure, and the mechanism is so complex that I'd be bound to break 5 other things if I tried to R&R just that part. Go find a used side mirror.

Jb weld won't hold that spot very well. Just had to replace mine in NYC. You will have to access from inside. Best to pull it off completely so it's not bouncing around

Great appreciate feedback all. Hard to see on the photo, but I did get side swiped. Going to the shop tomorrow to replace it.

still available from Toyota, somewhat reasonable and painted to match
the interior of the door does need to be removed to get to the 3? bolts that hold the mirror to the door

Paid $245 total to replace with new, oem, prepainted mirror at local shop. Looks and works great.

I had to replace my driver side one, I think it took me less than an hour total, including removing the interior of the door. Just get good instructions on YouTube for door interior removal and you will be fine.
