why -20 with flares? do they stick out too much without flares?
I would assume they would. The 8" wheel needs more offset to get the correct backspace. I ended up getting the 16x7 -10 wheels as I'm not running flares.

Great info gents!

@janyyc don't worry about it

You guys are making me get nervous about modifying the 74. Maybe I should return it back to stock and ship it to BAT.

So the 74 was limited to GCC, Japan and S. America markets?

Take it from me, thread hijacks are completely normal and have this weird peer pressure effect to make you do/consider things.

Hell after the hijack in my thread , I’m researching converting mine to 24v ;)

Ok maybe not. Do you have a rare cruiser??
Yeah I’d say so, and it’s pretty sweet and clean as all get out. Worth a lot of money to the right folks on BAT, but….

Is this a dream cruiser for you?
Would you rather have a different cruiser?
Do you need the money from selling it to pay for house? Kids college? Startup funding for cruisers only social dating app? Debts to the mob?

All seriousness, life is short. If you enjoy it and don’t have to sell it, don’t. I don’t think it’s rare enough to put it in a museum. I mean the 70 series can have something like 3000 variants!!!!

keep it and use it if it makes you happy, but In the end it’s just a used Toyota…

Edit: it appears I may be having an existential crisis. Buy every cruiser you can. Hoard them. Please start stashing all 70 series parts and put them in containers to ship to the US.

Ps: I really need a cheap altimeter POD.
PPs: and a double cab takeoff cab/bed

At the risk of further derailing this thread - and beautiful car @Lo2aY - but here’s an apparently Spanish HZJ73 for sale in Germany - Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ 73 // H-Zulassung // unberührt - https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/x/2349260531
That is a nice one , Tenerife is one of the Spanish Islands where people could special order these . These islands are a lot closer to Africa then to Spain so you find a lot of things there that where not available in the mainland .

Hello,

GCC and Japan mostly. A few for Europe.

FZJ74s went mainly to the GCC.

You have a very rare 70 Series.

Haha! Been around forums long enough to realize this. lol.

I'm probably going to keep it. Dave is helping me source the softop parts for it. So It's going to be a dual top rig. Going to start fabbing the front bumper for it soon. The ARB I took from my troopy.

I can source the AUX fuel pod out of an early 79. But you need to source the altimeter from a scrapyard or part-out from Japan.

The pods and the dash pads will likely be baked and cracked from heat but i'm sure it could be repaired.

Thank you Juan. I feel so much better driving it now. lol

Colombia got a ton of the 73/74’s. All they way to the end of production. I have looked at them there and thought about importing once 2000+ can be imported.

Cheers

This is my dream truck LHD, COP 1FZ-FE, AC
5 speed, manual shift transfer case /locking hubs. MWB, removable roof. And of course coils in the front.
Just SWEET unbelievably cool truck.

I concur with Juan: a few (diesels) have been imported into Europe: Test driven a brand new red HZJ74 at a Toyota dealership in Hannover, Germany. This was back in 2001...

PS. The dealer got (almost) the whole 70-Series of that era: some 10 Troopies HZJ78s, Pickups 79s and HZJ74s, were for sale at his yard, something rare for a dealership in Germany.
After 2001, due to emissions considerations, the 70-Series could not be brought through the official Toyota network anymore. The afficionados could look only at specialised importers, who would care for the emissions compatibility of these vehicles to european norms at a (significant) extra cost. Nowadays, I6 and V8 diesels are banned and one can get gazoline/petrol powered vehicles only (GRJ78s, 79s etc), still better than in the US, I think...

Been chasing this exact car for 1 year or so. I got it from the original owner. He had it parked for probably 10 to 14 years he said.

Here is what I got

2006 74 series LX with about 70,000 kms. Stock.

I want this rig! Lmk if you ever sell it. What websites have you searched for vehicles in this region?

Hello there, any one know what is the part number for hood fj73 soft top with windshield rest

I found this part number 53301-60171 but I think its not available any where.

please help me to find it.

@Letsgomoreplaces Not sure I would. But you never know.

These cars in this region, you won't find online. They are usually hidden gems. And their owners know it.

I bought this car offline.

You can find a 74 but it has 300,000 kms on it and in a rough shape. If you're okay with that. I can ask around for you.

Hala Habibi Wafy!

The Land Cruiser J75 (from 1985 to 1999) will have the hood with the rest pads for the windshield. I got the last one ALJ has in stock for J75. So you might try the reseller shops or a Junk yard.

Did you get a 73? I'd love to see a GCC spec rag top 73. I'm assuming no flares?

But the FZJ74 2006 I prefer to keep it hide

Beautiful Cruisers!

The Detachable doors were never offered for our market unfortunately. Some made their way to Yemen through their special order program but nothing mainstream.

You can probably find the detachable doors out of Japan or Pakistan. Those countries had the option or configuration available for general orders.
