The weekend of December 5 & 6 is our last club trail ride of 2009 at Uwharrie.

Post up if you can make it and what your plans are!

****************

In all likelihood, I will head down Saturday morning and camp that night. I am up for running any and all trails.

I am bringing one of our dogs. Just a heads-up, I will be spending time working with him, he is awesome with people but he has issues with other dogs (he will be on-leash the entire time).

Count on Garrett and I heading out Saturday AM as well. Not sure about the camping part yet.

Thanks for posting Joe

Location: Badin Lake Group Camp SITE "B"

This has been reserved for Friday and Saturday night.

Look forward to having everyone out for one last trail ride this year at URE.

I'll be headed up on Saturday morning. I assume Al will once again be coordinating a caravan out of Charlotte and plan on being a part of it.

I hope to go on an easy trail or two first thing (my ride isn't exactly set up for wheelin') and then ride shotgun and take photos/video the rest of the day (Ask Yotafan - if I ride shotgun with you, you are the subject of more photos).

Not sure about spending the night as my camping gear isn't rated for cold nights.

I'll have to say sorry now.

Just got done putting in 9.5 hours and from now till the new year i see me getting 9 - 10 hours every day.

I would like to join you guys, I am from Richmond if that is ok.
I will coming down Friday night and wheeln Saturday.
Where do you all meet and how can I get in touch with someone.
Any directions would help.

Thanks for posting that Joe, I didn't want to put anything down until the campsite was reserved. You guys have fun, see you at the December meeting...

Hi Roger, you are very welcome to join us! I will send you my contact info via PM.

You can find the Badin Lake Group Camp on this map --> Uwharrie Trails Map. I don't know if it makes more sense for you to come down 85 or 95, but basically head towards Asheboro, NC (not Asheville!), in Asheboro take Hwy 49 South to Hwy 109, then 109 south to SR 1154, turn right and follow the USFS signs.

David (white 60 from the september ride) and one other for the mid atlantic group will be joining us as well.
I'm a little on the fence right now with xmas and tight finances comming up. (Got to get my exhaust hangers thrown in there) Andrea and I might drive up in the matrix and ride with someone or we might sit it out. David I will coordinate a caravan from charlotte again. (not sure if I will be in it but i'll give a meeting time and place and spend part of today getting in touch with all the charlotte guys again.

I'm trying to figure out plans for next weekend as well. Might just be there for the day on Saturday with my brother-in-law.

Clint and I will drive out Friday night to "camp" in the 80 and will ride the trails on Saturday. We'll head back to Apex mid-afternoon for the Apex Christmas parade.

As usual, let's plan on meeting at the Outpost at 8:30am on Saturday to top off, air down, and inspection.

Thanks Joe for the PM I will call you during the week.
Your PM is full just to let you know.
I will probably stay in a hotel friday night after the 4+ hour drive and meet you all in the morning for fuel and safety and what not.

Is there anything specific I will need for safety check?

Looking forward to wheeln with you folks.

I will be there Saturday morning, not sure about camping yet...probably not.

Yeah 2 of us are planning to come from VA Beach.
I was thinking of camping in the truck like someone mentioned above.
I have not done that before in 30deg weather.
Will my regular summer sleeping bag (Walmart Special) do?

Cant wait!
Thanks

-Dave

Hotel?

Hey, anyone ever used any of the local hotels near URE?
Looks like Asheboro is the only mainstream option.
The closer stuff looks kinda sketchy.

Check Albemarle, they have a Holiday Inn Express that I've had friends stay in and said it was fine. It will be a bit closer than Asheboro...

As far as sleeping in the Cruiser goes, that's all I do and it's easy to stay warm. My wife picked up 2 wool blankets from Wallyworld for $5/ea. One goes under my sleeping bag, then the bag, then put the other over you once in the bag. If you cover your head it also keeps condensation down.

Roger, if you go to our club website (link in my signature), there is a link on the left to our Safety Checklist. BTW my PM box isn't full, I have very few PM's. :)

I'm not likely to make this one fellas. If anything changes, I'll let y'all know.

Sorry Joe I meant to tell Greg that his PM box was full:)
Wow I re-read that post and I must have been on something when I wrote it!:)

I meant to say Greg not Joe sorry as he is the one who pm'd me.

Joe thanks for PM I will be in touch during week.
