I remember the first time I went 4-wheeling with out my dad. I first went to the dunes and followed a bronco II and Izusu down a small trail and blew my tire in my full size bronco on a tree stump sticking out the side of the skinny trail. I changed it and rode around all day in the dunes. Went back into town and hit a mud pit area. Followed everyone else and happend to slip into a large rut under some water that was so deep I could not touch the bottom with an 8' stick. Had to go out to my buddies dads get his 2500 chevy with winch and chock blocks to pull me out. I had to get out of the bronco by rolling down the window and jumping off the hood. Not a good deal but luckily it was thick mud and the seals on those trucks doors are great. A new alternator and shocks and tire and my dad let me off the hook. A very expensive first day of wheeling though.

Awesome pics guys! Sorry I missed this one, but I should be there for the next one. Dave, I'm impressed with your 40's abilities even in stock form.

He did awesome in that stock 40!
Just shows you the heritage of the Land Cruiser, I love it!

I showed my wife a picture of his 40 and she said, "Is that a Jeep?"
Not quite dear.

I got stuck so bad one day on Bragg it was rediculous. I was in my old 1990 S-10 running on 36 Swampers. I was trying to get back to a good fishing hole over by one of the DZ's and was lazy. I got that thing so buried i had to get out the rear slider window to get a winch cable hooked to the front. The bed was about half full of thick mud by the time i got it out. That took along time to clean. Had a Forest Ranger help get me out. That was back in the day.

Love the army. You are strictly forbiden from off-roading on post but you are allowed to drive to any lake on the entire post to go fishing. Basically means you can go 4wheeling anywhere on the entire post as long as you have a fishing pole. I was driving WAY out there (where you live) by the ranges the other day and there might be some descent trails out there. More than likely not though.

I lived near Fort Ord in CA and they had some great trails for motorcycles "way back then". We used to hit them for our practice for sand tracks since so much of it was covered in sand...
