what do you mean by Large case Alt? The one in the 95 is a good 90 amps. Is this a gm or nipiondenso alt? There is at least one company that will rewind the alt for higher power at the cost of long life. Also Have you look at the tightness of the space where the Alt sits? Has some space but not much. later robbie

AlterStart..........a company located in Dallas, Texas has a brand new 150 amp. alternator that it sells for $250.00 it has a 2 year warranty and is a Nippendenso. I you are looking for a higher output unit this one develops 60 amps. at Idle and 150 amps. at 1600 rpm. They have a website that you can visit. I think it is: 4alterstart.com
I didn't say anything because I don't consider the one I am putting in to be large case, so just FWIW. It's a 100 amp Delco. Stock I had tested at 80 amp. Just have to make a spacer, adjusting bracket, and wire conversion.

Thats a small case GM alternator called the CS130. The weak link on them is the colling. The high amp models were rated at 100 amps, and anything more will make more heat than its small case can disipate. Its a great little alternator but also look into the CS130D and the CS144. They are small case alternators but are designed to be higher amoerage and are found on late model GM trucks. I think the rate them at 140 amps, but there are guys out there making 200 amp replacements.
