In seven months we made built-in cupboards of square aluminum tubes and sandwich panels of aluminum-composite (alucobond) for our campervan with pop-up roof.
After we built it in, we had over 6 weeks of vacation and we are sure now; we did a very good job.
If you want to have some inspiration, read our report with a lot of pictures: http://www.geocruiser.nl/hzj78-16.htmhttp://www.geocruiser.nl/hzj78-16.htm
It ‘s written in Dutch, but you can use the Google Translate option for better reading.

Cheers, Rob

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the compliments.

Peter,
W'll be there in Storndorf to visit the "BuschTaxi Treffen" for the 6th time. I posted this subject also on the forum of "BuschTaxi", so we are expecting some viewers of our Campervan.
We will arrive over there on Wednesday, at the end of the morning, to join some friends.

Cheers, Rob

love the comment at the end ... nice huh?

yes, very nice. congrats on a top notch build.
what are the plastic corners that you used?

The best way for you is to look for information on this website:
http://www.handytube.co.uk/ The English on that site is much better than the Google Translation of my website.
Thanks for your reaction.

Hello RobGT, I must give you a big 'dankiewel' for the info; it's the best idea i've seen so far for an interior.
One question please: one of my aims is to have an interior that is easy and (relatively) quick to remove; from your experience, is that possible with the aluminium brackets?
Cheers, Mk61+

@ titanpat57 and @ crushers,
Nice you found dealers in the US and in Canada.

@ 61Mk+,
You have to remove the two cupboards one at a time as a complete cupboard. Each cupboard has a few connections to the inside of the car. There is no problem. But every cupboard has some electric connections.
On the right side I have to disconnect also the kitchen waste pipe and remove the water tank. On the left side I have to disconnnect and remove the kitchen battery from the solar panels regulator and I have no electricity for my diesel heater.
During building you can make quick connectors and then removal can be easy. For the solar panels you have to find an other solution if you have any.

In the Netherlands we have a system of “road tax” for campervans; we can pay a quarter of the normal amount of tax, but then we are not allowed to drive without the camper interior.

Cheers, Rob
