I'd be interested as well. The one body shop I went to in my area told me to just buy a whole new door and quarter panel. They don't do spot treatments.
Maybe the wrong forum, but does anyone have any good body and paint shop recommendations in the Philly area? My 62 came from the West coast and had a few tiny rust spots, but I'm now starting to see little rust spots around the gas tank and rear windows. Not looking for a full rotisserie paint job, but more of a spot rust treatment and re-spray close to the OEM color. Thanks!
I've used JM Auto body in Fulsome, PA (delco) with pleasing results.

Couple of jolly, senior dudes who have been doing this for years and run a tidy shop.

I dropped off one car and then cycled two more through them, happy to send more work their way 👍

Has anyone heard of any cruiser shops that are doing the Cummins R2.8 swap?
Did you ever hear back on Cummins R2.8 swaps in the Philly area? I just lost my reverse gear and it's given me the excuse to explore a full repower LS or Diesel.

Thanks Blair!
Did you get your trans fixed in the Philly area? I'm at a crossroad myself. Pay 6-8k for an H55F, attempt to get an A440F rebuild, roll the dice on a used A440F or explore a full repower.

I rolled the dice on a "newer" A440F a month ago. Even with the McNamara gear upgrade, still getting a reverse clunk. Drove it on a 200 mile round trip and now I'm idling really rough. FJ struggles to even stay on. May be some vacuum leak somewhere. Who knows?

I'm going to try to get the 3FE running one last time. If it's a no go, I'm going to absolutely pull the trigger on a V8 or diesel swap. May attempt it on my own or wait a year for some well know LC places to fit me in.

The engine sounds like a carb problem. (Says the guy who has never owned or worked on one) I wonder if the jets need flushed out. But I did learn how to "tune it up" at fall crawl.

I saw a guy "fix " a poorly running 1F by removing the air cleaner, reving up the engine and placing his palm on the carb. Almost making it stall. So the engine vacuum would suck the dirt out of the carb. If your doing it right it hurts your palm. It may take several times. It's free and easy so could be worth a try.

the 3fe is fuel injected.
