I am not sure what the big deal is with the rear flex. The more it flexes the more rear-steer you get and that can sometimes mess you up more.

WOW, so all those people picking on the 100 for the lack of front flex are morons? Kidding! :D

Hey, every inch can count can't it? Why are 80 owners then wanting L-shocks? (Not just to match J-springs)

If I can add an inch to the rear that'll only help. (?)

(If I could add 2.5 to the front then I have a solid axle. :D )

:whoops: No packers. :o

If your changing shocks why stay with the OME's? Get some nice bling Bilstein 7100's like LandCruiserPhil has. :D

How much for a set of your TOOLS R US spacers?

Depends on what you want and the price depends on the customers attitude, with the comment above, mega $$$$$! :D

Play nice, children! :)

We see the same thing on the front with out 4" spring and L shocks. However it is unlikely that the front can be flexed to the extend that the L shock is maxed out. When on the hoist, the you drop both sides of the axle. In reality on the trail this never happens to the front or the rear. But the rear can flex until you reach the limit of the shock.

I am not sure what the big deal is with the rear flex. The more it flexes the more rear-steer you get and that can sometimes mess you up more.[/QUOTE]

Unless of course you are air born! but flying a big Cruiser isn't that much fun. The flying part is OK, it is the landing that sucks.

Where was that quote????????????

Somewhere...................

Ah yes, right there on the bottom of my sig line :flipoff2:

Seriously, why even bother? you already have the ultimate wheeling machine.

YOU just said that Christo knows his stuff. IIRC the shortbus is an 80

Right........Kevin and I are buds. He's got a nice LX and was in the Cruiser Documentary DVD. Scrrrrrape! (Remember Kev?)

And Kevin....you better come Saturday. Many good Cruiser friends will be there from the AZLCA and they have some sweet trucks. I'll be in the 80 because I need something capable for that trail. :D
Can't wait to do this hill. The other side is even worse. It's slip and slide down and great care is needed.

That trail looks paved. Heck you could do that in a Subaru!

And Mr. Slee that is sort of what I was thinking. I was actually thinking of those nutsos in Central America who race their 80s and get like 6-7 feet of air in them.

I've never flown my current 80 and the flights I took in my last one were nothing that spectacular. My 60 I accidentally flew once. I could have been an advertisement for a cargo barrier on that deal. I had a Sami once that jumped right off the side of the hill. I was told the rear bumper was over 4 feet off the ground. That wasn't pretty either. And I still can't believe I didn't wet myself on that one. I prefer to take flight in planes now.

Saturday I will be at Fossil Creek, in the mountains, where it's cool, desert wheeling is best in the winter! The last time I was in the hot a$$ desert with you, I bashed my rocker and still :crybaby: :crybaby: about it! Now I hear my tard driving is on some DVD for the whole world to see! :o

Can't find the pictures of Rob's spring retainer brackets, will shoot more on Saturday.

If you add limiting straps, then why are you doing longer shocks?

The way to do it is clamp the spring top, bottom or both. That way you are sure the spring will not become unseated.

Wow, I actually agree with Slee.

Fossil Creek will be cool? Fossil Creek will be HOT too. Lower altitude even than most of my trip. We'll miss ya! :)

I want to see you and your 100 at Tellico sometime...

Enough of that open dry rock already... :flipoff2:

I was considering putting L-shocks on the back of my LX a few months ago. However, a guy in my J**p club pointed out that if the shock is extended to the point that the spring is loose, you're not really getting much benefit from that wheel, even if it is touching the ground. Kind of hard to generate traction with no normal force (aside from the weight of the wheel, axle, etc)...
