L series diesel - oil squirters??

Hey guys,

I read over at toyotadiesel.com/forums about a guy claiming his 1L came from the factory with oil squirters fitted. Is there any truth to this?

If so, which L series engines got the oil squirters? And did they use a higher capacity oil pump?

I have a 2L engine and would like some more info. I thought it would be worth asking the question before removing the sump from my engine to have a look.

Whats the 1L motor in...sounds like the small motors they use in those airplane towing rigs IIR they had the 1L,the only reason I can think of why it would have oilers if it was turboed.

The 1L, 2L, 3L, and 5L were all used in Toyota Hilux. They are 4 cylinder SOHC 8 valve. 2.2, 2.4, 2.8, and 3.0 litres respectively.

Not that I know about L series engines, but are you talking about the piston cooling oil jets?

I'm pretty sure I've said before all the 2L/2LT/2L2/2LT2 I've seen (hilux/landcruiser) had them.

Doesnt matter what you say,someone will come along and say anything with an L designation is s***.

Shows them in the Toydiy.It calls them an "oil nozzle" PART # 15708-54010. Look under the "cylinder block" page.
They look similar in shape to the other engines like the 12HT

I did search, and found no useful information on the topic. So NA (non-turbo) versions also had the squirters? This is good news.

2.2 L or 1L = no squirters
