Well, I am taking this opportunity to give a huge shout out to Bud and his fabricators.
I had been having a problem on the Cummins 80 where the torque convertor bolts kept loosening up on me. Come to find out, the wave-ring adapter (spacer between the flywheel and torque convertor) had been modified by Proffit's to work with the 700R4 torque convertor, which in turn structurally weakened the wave ring and it was actually starting to crack.
After doing some research, it turns out that is a common problem with the swap. Nice to know now
Anyway, one of the guys on 4BTswaps shot me a AutoCad file for a 1/8" adapter plate that allows you to use the un-molested wave ring and adds a little integrity to the whole shebang.
After another fab company got done jerking me around, I decided to give Bud a call and he was willing to accommodate. Long story short, he got busy and forgot about my plate, it happens. He felt so bad about forgetting, he fabbed the plate and shipped it to me free of charge. I tried to push money on to Bud, but he would have none of it.
So many times you see horror stories about vendors, but in this case, Bud and the guys and gals at Bud Built went above and beyond and made a customer very happy.
Hats off to you Bud
