It has been closed for 3 years now so does that mean it is gone forever?

pretty much. It would cost an astronomical amount of money to stabilize the area surrounding Kodak Rock. Initial estimates put it close to 1 million.

The trouble is, that if people don't stop creating their own trails in Uwharrie the USFS will be forced to close down more sections of trail.

It is gone. No more. You can walk there and we will be securing the metal rail to reuse on other trails.

That really sucks. What was it they found out there anyway..some kind of Indian burial ground?

There are plenty of other parks to go to in our region with plenty of obstacles like Kodak though!
