Hi I’m a second time Cruiser owner since 2001. I am in Australia. First 1998 6cylinder GXL still going strong fully original 550,000km now driven by my brother in law after I did the first 500,000+ km. My second and current 2003 Sahara 2UZ100 V8. 393,000 km. I’ve done all but about first 50,000km. Had engine failure around 383,000. Engine fully reconditioned, new pistons, rings, bearings, associated grinds and head services. All good.
Now I have a 6 month old and ongoing knock sensor issue. Error code P0325 on bank 1. Replaced sensor with aftermarket unit same problem reoccurred after 120km. Bank 1 Error P0325. Replaced that sensor (warranty replacement) and swapped banks. After 150km error code reoccurred this time on Bank 2 Error code P0330. This sensor was replaced with Genuine Toyota sensor and again received Error code P0330 Bank 2. After 3-4 mechanics including an Auto electrician on behalf of the engine reconditioning workshop and a friend who works in a Toyota dealership no resolve found. My FIXD OBD tester repeatedly gets P0330 bank 2. Finally in desperation I took it to our local Toyota dealer in northern Adelaide in SA and they obtained the same Error code P0330 and therefore recommended replacing both sensors and the wiring harness.
Here is the kicker, apparently Toyota can supply the sensors around AUD$250 each (aftermarket AUD$125) but they have no part listing for the wiring harness and have advised me it’s been discontinued. I received a final dismissive statement from them that the vehicle was more than 20 years old.
So I am here to ask for help from other Cruiser owners who may have experienced something similar or can offer advice on where to get the wiring harness. I’ve been online with no clear answers. VIN JTEHT05J702043360. I would appreciate it if someone could help. Thank you. Dreecus.

Knock sensor wire is nothing special that you need to get it from the parts store. It's just two wires connected to a female connector housing and then plugged into the knock sensor. I have recently repaired knock sensor wire that was chewed up by rodents, and replace the connector that plugs into the knock sensor.

Furthermore, knock sensor connector housing and injector connector housing uses the same part number. Part number for injector wiring / knock sensor wiring on my 2006 lexus lx470 is 9098011875. This connector is widely used by many Japanese cars including Honda/Acura Toyota/ Lexus / Scion.
Some of these aftermarket connectors do come with wires attached. Here is an aftermarket connector on eBay that come with wires attached. Click here for genuine connector.
You can do it at home without taking it to any shop. Here is my three parts video on how to to remove intake manifold and replace knock sensor connector. Part one is removal. Part 2 is cleaning and draining the block. You can skip part 2. And watch part 3 replacing knock sensor connector.

Thank you for your response. The knock sensor on 2006 Lexus is different. My knock sensor OME 89615-52010 is a single wire connect not dual. Likely UZ200 Therefore the plug you advised is not suitable. Unless you can provide that plug code I am where I was when I posed the problem. I will however take time to watch the YouTube video shortly to see if there appears to any difference to the procedure. I watched the engine reco guy do the second installation and I feel it’s a little more difficult as I am not a young man with full mobility these days. I’m getting on a bit at 75. Thank you Mr Khan.

Here the part number for the knock sensor connector harness for your car. Part number 90980-11166. It's available and not discontinued.
Hi Mr Khan. I oh so wanted you to be right about advising the connector for my 2003 Land-cruiser Sahara. However the Amazon link you provided advises that the part is NOT suitable for my vehicle. For the record the correct knock sensor is 89615-52010 and all my searches have failed to find wiring harnesses specifically to suit. Whilst the part you gave is suitable for some Toyotas apparently not mine. I believe I see the connection pin location in the top of the correct sensor is offset and not central. Hope you can weave your magic search. I appreciate your efforts on my behalf.

That connector will 100% fit your car's knock sensor, examining the knock sensor in photos and connector side by side, I am 99% sure it will plug into the knock sensor. This part number for the connector I gave you is from 2004 land cruiser factory service manual. I doubt there is a major difference between 2003 and 2004 UZJ engine.
Ignore the Amazon link and search this part number in your browser 90980-11166. The fitment guide on parts websites is not always accurate, and I’ve bought many parts for my 2006 Lexus and other cars in the past from websites that claimed the parts wouldn't fit but it did.
