"Matty," a Chevy V-8? Don't you mean a Holden V-8?
Actually, if you do the V-8 swap the 4.11 diffs would be a better choice (but you might want some deeper gearing in the t-case.)

Have thought about a stroked holden v8 but I've had a couple in some of my road cars and I'm not a huge fan so most likely it'll be a Chev. I think you're right about the reduction gears in the t-case though. That way when everyone else is running 37's, I'll be right to run 38's
