Ok my ryobi 790r 31cc weedeater just isn't cutting it any more. I am looking at the KM55 and the KM90. Will the 55 hold up and run eaverthing fine? Looking at the trimmer and edger, but eventually might get the cultivater and pole pruner. Looking for peoples thoughts about the two engines.

Thank You,
John

I've got a KM130. It will do anything I throw at it. I'd pass on the KM55.

I really don't want to spend that much, but thanks for the reply anyways. I am sure the km130 will be more than I'll ever need.

The STIHL has a 7 Day Satisfaction Guarantee.

If you are unsure, buy the KM 55, take it home and try it. If it is not what you thought it was going to be, they will give you your money back towards the KM 90.

The attachments for both are the same.

I went to order the km 110. $40 more than the km90 but a little more horsepower. The wife is in charge of the checkbook but she didn't want to go with me. They didn't have the 110 so the have to order it. It should be here tomorrow or fri. I want to get the pruner next year and that would probably be out of the 7 day exchange period. I am a little leery of the still after my chainsaw took a crap. You got me to change the fuel filter last year after MY dealer said I guald up the cylinder and piston. After many pics. you basically said no way and to change the filter. It ran great for a few months then started doing the same thing again. Another fuel filter didn't do the trick the next time. Good thing is it forced me to change the rope on the poolon and on and on and it's been working like a champ. Wife is still wondering why I had to buy the ms180 in the first place.

Well they never called me to tell me it was in, so I just showed up. Well they had it, and all I can say it WOW! It has got some kind of power. Only complait with it is how long it is. It get's the job done. Am very happy with it. I'd hate to see what kind of power the km 130 has.

Believe me, the KM 130 has even MORE power.

The early morning beads of water on the grass blades is not dew, it is the grass sweating when they see that you bought a STIHL KM unit. :D

Thanks
That is a good one. I might have to borrow that some time.

Excellent choice - I have been using the KM 130 with blower, string head, pole saw and hedge trimmer. I cut back small sumacs with the hedge trimmer as well as trim Weeping Willows ... its the "cats XXX", the blower is a must have for leaves and sidewalks. and the pole pruner works great (although the non-carbon fiber extensions are heavier the weight does bear on a branch nicely and cuts with no further pressure required.) all in all a great tool.

I am VERY disappointed in a Honda 4cycle trimmer I bought a few years ago - it was used very little and now with less than 10 hours the unit will not rev beyond idle and is a heart attack on a stick when trying to start it. It is the LAST Honda garden tool I will purchase. Too bad cause when the OHV (GX) engines were standard Honda built an excellent reputation. Thats what sucked me in to buying a Honda lawnmower first although I was too stupid to notice the "OHC" (GV) decal - I don't use it anymore either - too hard to start.
