So if they are progressive does that mean they will ride smoother than say Slee springs?

King coils spec's

Here are some specs for the King coils that the sales rep. in OZ send me after I phone for some questions.
I am looking for coils in the 3"-4"lift, but i keep reading that Australian suspension lift for the 80's are 1" higher than the USA rating for lift's example: A lift that is said to lift 3" in Australian market would lift 4" in a USA spec 80 series. The only explanation that I can think of in my head is, that the OZ spec 80 series is 1" higher from the factory.
Please, can somebody confirm this thinking? or am I wrong?
I am looking for 1" higher that my current lift 850 OME front and 864 OME rear, that are rated to lift 2.5" in a USA spec 80.

KING SPRINGWORKS PTY LTD

this are not all of them, I only ask for -4" lift, they have also 5" and 7" coils

So if they are progressive does that mean they will ride smoother than say Slee springs?

It means the heavier the load the stiffer they get.

Does that mean the ride is smoother? Maybe, maybe not.

I e-mailed the company and got this response:

If those part numbers are listed as progressive, then they are truly progressive. King Springworks Progressive rate springs are a tapered wire coil. Not the type we generaly see here in the U.S. with the tight winds at the top that deaden in each other to cause the rise in rate. The tapered wire progressive spring is smoother and more consistant due the tapered wire.

If listed for say the 4" lift, they give a range of 3" to 4" dependent on added equipment or accessories. They don't publish the rate spread on these.

Key:

If a spring has two rates listed, it's progressive. LH900/LH1200/LH1400/LH1600 is the load height with various weights.

Found this on one of King's PDF's. Give you an idea of how to guestimate how long the springs are:
NOTE: KTFR-69SP3/4/5/7 & KTRR-70SP3/4/5/7 SPRINGS AVAILABLE FOR L/CRUISER 80-100 SERIES
THE ABOVE PART NOS ARE 3",4",5"AND 7" LIFT APPROXIMATELY.

I'm assuming this is all in KG and MM.

Please feel free to point out any lines I missed or goofed on.

I also added Peluo's information.

Got em' and one day early! Thanks, Steve

FYI, These are the 4" springs. The fronts measure 21" and the rear are 20.5"

I always thought King Springs were yellow? If you bought king Springs set I have never seen them black.

Sorry if I am mistaken and I just had time to read the whole threat and noticed you got them black.

keep us posted to see results on your new lift and congrats looking good truck

Glad to see you finally got some tread under that truck! Your old tires were giving me anxiety :frown:

Did I miss something, or has anyone stated how this is possible?

(I'm not buying the dingo excretion hypothesis)

Note front still has heaps of flex in it even with std arms.

^^^ and I want that bumper.

The truck is just balanced in such a way that it forces the front to flex more than typical. (I also like that bumper.)

This isn't quite as much, but close to it.

:hhmm: Hhhmmm... yeah... I don't know E. Eyeballing where the tires are lining up with the bodies in those photos, it doesn't seem to be a very close comparison to me. Angle of the camera, or trick of the light? Maybe. But I'd say there is something else going on.

...I wonder if he would trade a not-so-gently-used ARB bumper and a pair of straight factory running boards for that bumper.

Meh, pretty close.

How about this? AFAIK stock but no front sway bar.
