I want to see these springs in action and I dont think Im alone...

What are you expecting to see that is different from other linear rate coil springs for the 80?

The claim from the beginning of this thread is more articulation then other guys spring. I have questioned that earlier in the thread having gone down that road in the past. Im hoping for Silverhorse that they do in fact deliver much more then other available springs. Kudos for Silverhorse trying something different.

You already have your answer then since coil springs don't articulate (axles connected to suspension links articulate in a coil system) - they simply compress and extend while maintaining (hopefully) consistent load bearing.

Extended length is 21" front and 20.5" rear. That should be identical to any other linear coil spring of the exact same spring rate for the exact same lift height on the same rig.

Because it if isn't the same when spring rate and realized lift are the same, then one of the coils is not able to properly hold weight and is of a lesser quality. Those lengths look pretty typical for a 4" lift, so..... :meh:

Im trying to be positive, time will tell...

It's not a negative or positive thing. Unlike a leaf spring, a coil spring can only provide load bearing through a range of motion defined by the links and shocks.

There are wide potential variations in coil spring materials and designs that can affect consistency of load bearing through a weight and motion range, and that in turn can affect the tuning of suspension geometry through articulation.

Even more to the point, I have no belief that dropping coils off of towers for a significant percent of available articulation is a neutral or desirable condition, even though it is almost a requirement for any long travel 80 series suspension that is not a coilover.

I hear King makes good coils, and if the shocks are chosen and aligned well to the springs, I suspect the outcome will be very favorable.

From what I have read they seem like nice springs
But, springs are not going to give you more articulation all there are is springs they will not make your truck flex anymore than it already does
There are other factors such as shock type and length which will affect articulation more than a spring will
They look nice hope they work out for you and it would be good to have another option for springs for an 80
Remember shock length, type and set up is going to be your biggest factor in performance
And it also depends on how much lift and your intended usage

Silverhorse if you are looking for long travel shocks I had good luck with Bilstein 14" 7100 on my old 80, pictured.

Very Nice! Bilsteins will more than likely be the ones i go with......

Gotta love those articulating Australian coils that overcome the front radius arm bushing restriction. If only we had known all along.

:D

Its the koala skin bushings soaked in dingo piss that does the trick.

Got the springs installed. When I received them I thought they might be stiff judging by the size of the coils(3/4"). But, they are not stiff at all. in fact they are fairly soft when i push down on the bumpers. I did learn a few things in the process of installing the lift. When I installed the front springs I noticed the front axle would not "drop out" enough for me to get the new springs in place. After some inspection I found the radius arms were binding(bottoming out) on the top of the radius arm bracket, suspending the front axle. After I removed the RA bolts from the frame mounts the axle moved freely. Glad I purchased the RA drop down brackets! (I know, I know! ;))
The rear was similar, when I removed the shocks, etc. the rear axle would not drop out either. I quickly discovered that if I loosened the upper control arm bolts (at both ends) it would totally free up the axle. I still have to get shocks. I'll probably go with some none res. Edelbrock, Bilsteins or something similar.

I took measurements of everything as well. I'll post that ASAP..

I will be bringing over a shipment of King Springs leaving Port of Brisbane in early Dec. If there are any Springs that anyone is interested in let me know and I can include them. Also a little insight as to what the popular part numbers people would be looking for so we can stock some on the shealf would be helpful.

Here you have a company that import them in the USA. "Makin'Trax Suspension", They work mainly on ATV's suspension, but for some reason they are bringing the 80's springs as well.
I know King Springs is a top of the line product and they have nothing to do with Kings suspension.
They are on the set up I want for my suspension among Redflo shocks and other parts from other vendors.

Coil-Over Springs - AFCO UTV YAMAHA RHINO POLARIS RZR SHOCKS

Scroll down and you will find the 80's springs among the others. They just bring the competitions one.

Those are listed as 4" progressive springs. Are they actually truly progressive? Any info on 'em?
