Anybody out there rocking king shocks (front and rear) on their 100 series?? I’m interested in getting a set but am wondering how mudders have liked them so far. Worth the money? I’m not interested in Icons. Also what UCA’s have you paired them with? Thanks!!

Howdy, I went Nitro upper control arms, an Fox my buddy uses Controlled chaos, with King shocks.. if I was going to do it again, I’d go Controlled chaos an King

Do you mean Total Chaos? If so then yes I’m with you there. TC makes top of the line control arms.
I’m about to buy the king remote resis so we’ll see how things go!

New torsion bars are not required for direct fit king shocks...but TJM makes an amazing set of torsion bars if you’re looking to upgrade. I’ve heard ARB torsion bars can be a little too harsh

Ball joint Nitro UCA vrs uni ball total chaos .. uni ball sounds like the way..
went with Old man Emu front torsion bars, they seem to look the same as the one’s I took off... went with the OME heavy spring’s
differential drop looks the same too as stock
Toyo 35 MT’s Hutchinson beadlocks 17x8 with 150 spacing

Pretty much all aftermarket torsion bars ride the same. It’s the OME shocks that people have reported an extra stiff ride from. Experiencing them myself, they are too stiff.

I have an lx470 with AHC are you sure new torsion bars arent needed? AHC uses much smaller torsion bars.

i want a 2-3 inch lift with my kings i was under the impression i need torsion bars and springs in the back.

U can crank your torsion bars an add new rear springs.. just b carefull , my cv joints were old an it speed up the wear.. I cleaned them up an ordered a new reboot kit, good as new... I tried aftermarket cv joints an they were bad.. so stay stock :)

Are you in orange county i saw another thread of yours and you talked about irvine, id love to get a ride and see what your shock setup is like and check it all out,

I had old man emu rear shocks, they were nice, not to bad.. used those till the 105 series rear’s came in.. both front an back are loop to pin.... I put the 100 series fox 2.0 rears shock up front.. to give it the extra inch or so.. almost put 37’s with 2 inch body lift.. but stayed at 35’s the weight difference was a lot to add plus a heavier rim.. TRD supercharger helps

what is loop to pin do you have pics of your shock setup? why did you go with 105 series shocks?

You definitely need new torsion bars if converting from an AHC rig... the AHC torsion bars are not strong enough to safely support the vehicle without the system.

What torsion bars are rear springs are a good combination for Kings shocks if i want to run 2.5-3" of lift? I wish there was a kit i could purchase.

I’m personally a fan of Tough Dog components sold by Trail Tailor aka @reevesci . So I would go with Tough Dog torsion bars and then go with one of Trail Tailors rear tourflex spring options.

Loop just means the shock slides on a bar an ranchets on a stationery tighten....
pin means it go’s threw stationary position to lock down with a nut.. 2000 100series for me...
100 series shocks were too small an we’re really only going 1.5 in the front an I needed more.. so I went with building my own kit.. everyone has favorite an everyone ones idea is good.. create your own work of art , hope it helps j
I followed some builds of the 105 series cause I really like it.. it’s a bit beefier shock , more travel an matched how many rotations I turned the torsion bar.. two rotations an I marked the bar with a sharpie

As I’m sure your aware, the 105 series utilizes a solid axle front suspension while our 100s are IFS. I could potentially see 105 series shocks working on the rear with enough lift, but am honestly shocked to hear that you put 105 series shocks on the front as most of the 100 series shocks options for our IFS rigs allow us to utilize pretty much our full travel limits of our IFS.

While you mention making sure the mounting points are correct, you go into no detail on compressed/extended lengths or any other shock factors.

Just wanted to clarify for future readers that it is not recommended to switch to 105 series spec shocks. I would like further data.
